Tsuburaya has announced that they are developing an upcoming Ultraman CGI anime movie with NetFlix and Industrial Lights and Magic, the company that brought us films like Star Wars and The Terminator 2: Judgment Day.
Here's the official plot of the new Ultraman project:
"Baseball superstar Ken Sato returns to his home country of Japan to pick up the mantle of Earth-defending superhero Ultraman, but quickly finds more than he bargained for when he’s forced to raise the offspring of his greatest foe, a newborn Kaiju. Struggling to balance the roles of teammate and new father, Ken must confront his own ego, his estranged father, and the conniving Kaiju Defense Force to rise up and discover what it truly means to be Ultraman."

The film will differ from the recent Ultraman CGI anime series. The movie will be produced by Tom Knott (The Iron Giant), co-produced by Lisa Poole (Over The Moon), will be written and directed by Shannon Tindle and Marc Haimes, and will be co-directed by John Aoshima.
