Rumors are spreading that Toei announced yesterday that the Metal Hero franchise will finally make its return and will replace the Super Sentai series after No.1 Sentai Gozyuger makes it final run next year.
And according to the source of the news, the new Metal Hero series will feature a "reiwa-era" version of Space Sheriff Gavan, the very first series that started the franchise.
It also stated that auditions have already started and the actor for the lead role has been already chosen and the new series will start airing next spring, replacing Super Sentai in the Super Hero Time block (Sunday, 9:30 AM).
It was also stated in that same news that Super Sentai may still continue its production via streaming services or on another network. For now, let us all treat this as a rumor until an official information from Toei themselves has been handed out.
