Here are a couple of television advertisements for the upcoming 2013 film, “Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods”. This set of commercials feature a few new scenes from the film.
Taking place during the manga's "lost decade", The God of Destruction Bils awakens from a long inactivity, and challenges Goku in a battle! With Goku losing the battle, he asked, “Is there is anyone on Earth more worthy to destroy?”
Directed by Masahiro Hosoda (Dragon Ball Z episode director) at TOEI, and written by Yuusuke Watanabe (20th Century Boys, Gantz), “Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods” premieres March 30th, 2013.
Am I the only person who prefers the older look of DBZ vs this newer all digital style? I mean, the old stuff resembled the manga. It used thick & thin lines for outlines on characters, and you could tell it was hand drawn (which I like). With this new stuff, every character looks like fan art, all the lines are the same thickness, and everything is apparently super shiny. It just looks so cookie-cutter compared to gritty detail of the old stuff. Think of Vegeta fighting against Recoome or When Goku first fought against Nappa for example.
