Pirate anime One Piece voice actor Takkou Ishimori, voice behind former Marine Fleet Admiral Sengoku, passed away last Wednesday morning. He was 81 years old.
Fellow voice actor and friend Nobuyuki Kobushi broke the news via Twitter last Saturday. He commented, “I really... Wanted to act more and more together, and I wanted to learn a lot more from him...”
Ishimori's previous roles include Yoshimune in Buzzer Beater, Chang Ang in Magic Knight Rayearth 2, the king of Xerxes in Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Ranzō Fujibayashi in the PSP version of Tales of Phantasia, and Bashful in Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep.
