A live-action film adaptation would be given to Okushima Hiromasa's Akira No. 2 manga and actor Ozawa Ryota (Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger) was chosen to play the role of Akira.
The story revolves around Akira who is known to be the No. 2 in a high school that is full of students having disciplinary issues as it follows the battle within the student body for the alpha male position.
Together with Ozawa, kick-boxer Kido Yasuhiro will also take part in the film as the gang leader Tsutomu. Other cast include Igarashi Maasa, Fukuyama Shodai and Hashimoto Manami.
Akira No. 2 premieres this fall.
