Suda Masaki to be featured in new NHK Drama

Suda Masaki (Philipp / Sonozaki Raito of Kamen Rider W fame) is going to be starring in a new NHK Drama 二十歳と一匹 (roughly translated as "A 20 year old and his pet" )which will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Great Hanshin -Awaji Earthquake. It will be airing on January 17, 2015 and is considered a milestone for NHK.

The special drama will feature themes on disaster preparedness and hope as well as the role of a public broadcaster in the face of this tragedy. It is an action filled story which Suda Masaki stated in his Ameblo that it is a challenging role for him.

The drama 's plot will be about story of young children who have lost their parents in the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, Suda is set to play a handler for the "rescue dog"who experienced the tragedy in the past and will show him growing up with his grandparents. His character has taken a definite step towards a life dedicated to rescue. The characters grandparents brought him up to protect life and was the first handlers of the rescue dog.

Suda hopes to deliver HOPE to those affected by tragedy with his acting in this feature film.

Suda has started the year with a bang and has been set to play roles for 2015 dramas such as Chokolietta and Assassination Classroom. Suda has also been a well awarded young actor in 2014 where he bagged the 18th Nikkan Sports Drama Grand Prix (GP) award for Best Supporting Actor.
