Another sad news has hit the tokusatsu industry and fandom as Joe Odagiri (known for his role as Kamen Rider Kuuga) and Yuu Kashii's (Odagiri's wife) son passed away at the age of 1 due to intestinal complications.
Odagiri, along with his wife, released this official press release on various Japanese media outlets last April 24 and according to Odagiri's agency, his son was diagnosed with intestinal ileus (a disruption in the intestinal movement) and went surgery last April 14. His situation worsened and passed away on April 20.
Let us all extend our prayers and condolence to the family of the man who reignited the Kamen Rider Franchise way back in 2000.

That's so terrible. My condolences to him and his wife.
I was shocked upon hearing this. My thoughts and prayers go out to Mr. Odagiri and his family.
It makes me sad when babies die at such a young age.
I guess he wasn't able to protect the smile of his son
I hope he and his wife rise above their grief, it's always sad to lose a family member especially at such a young age
Jesus, that's horrible. You have my condolences, Mr. Odagiri.
Not even a kamen rider can fight REALITY. Condolences to Odagiri-san. Hopefully this event will make him reconsider to reprise his role as Godai Yusuke on any future kamen rider movies (?)
That's a little cold.
My heart breaks whenever I read about things like this. My condolences to the Odagiris
So sad to hear this. have a 1 yr old myself, and know it would devestate me should anything happen. my prayers are with you Odagiri-San.

I'll pray for Joe and his wife. I hope they heal someday.

Like a comet
Blazing across the evening sky
Gone too soon
Like a rainbow
Fading in the twinkling of an eye
Gone too soon
