Heads-up morphinomenal fans! A couple of on-the-set images from the Mighty Morphin' Pwer Rangers 2017 movie has surfaced featuring the the MKXLV errr... Red Ranger suit in action!
And by the looks of it, the Putty Patrols are done in CGI (and are those asian suit actors for the Putties)! And now, as a prop maker myself, i'm loving the suit's actual look! Let's all wait for a group shot pic for the rest of the team in action!
Oh look, it's just like I've been telling everybody, THE FREAKING CHEST DOESNT LIGHT UP. That was just a glare in the production shot because the suits were shiny.

DeleteSorry to disappoint but see those triangles on the white parts of the chest? That means it will be replaced by cgi.

DeleteI bet that the Rangers suit do glow m8, which is cool by me.
Or, maybe, it's because they're going to add the glowing effect in post-production. Note how the middle of the chest plate (and the other pieces on either side of it) has the same triangle symbol that's all over the mo-cap actors in the green suits. So, yes, they most likely are going to glow. Sorry to steal your moment of superiority.

ReplyDeleteReserving final judgment until seeing more, specifically waiting for the first full trailer, but can we please stop with the Red Ranger/Iron Man jokes? They were NOT funny the first time and still aren't now. Ugh.
ReplyDeleteI thought it looked more like the suit for the Guyer myself. The way it looks, and the way it is alien sounds a lot like the Guyver, more so than Iron Man. I for one like the new suits, but wish it was different but I'm not in charge and they aren't bad like this either. I never actually got the Iron Man thing I don't see it, before or now myself.

ReplyDeleteI think I'm one of the few that doesn't like the suits. I really, really know I shouldn't have expected the old spandex skittle squad costumes, but man. I was kinda hoping, y'know? Like the old, dirty, torn suits would be handed down, and then maybe upgraded? That woulda been awesome. But hey! I'm glad the teens with attitude are back, regardless! Looking forward to some zords!
