Thanks to the ever watchful eyes of our buddies at Neo Saban Power Rangers, the first round of Power Rangers Ninja Steel toys were spotted at this year's Power Morphicon!
Seen in the Power Rangers Ninja Steel display section are the the Ninja Steel team's megazord (which, by the looks of it, will use the original mold from the DX Shurikenjin but still molded in cheap plastic), role play toys and the ranger figures. So who's excited for the newest Power Rangers toy line?
Oh god no... What the hell is that morpher?!
ReplyDeleteIt's the rangers's main katana with the interchangeable shuriken. Seriously, don't you even watch ninninger?!
DeleteDude, I wasn't talking about what the morpher is, I'm talking about the design of the toy. I hope to GOD that toy is a prototype!
DeleteI think the only good thing here is Pink and White getting their own action figures, something which the Ninninger toy line didn't have. Don't care about the male rangers since the Ninninger toy line already has them. The rest are, honestly, meh. But it's Bandai ofThe bulky-looking arms and legs makes me think this is a buff crossdressing guy.... :p America we're talking about, so what do you expect......?

ReplyDeleteConsidering this is a Bandai America product, it actually looks decent. It's not missing terrible amounts of paint... And is that a yellow t-Rex Zord I see in the background?
ReplyDeleteThe megazord looks great, just that it seems that Wanmaru will be molded onto Byunmaru instead of a separate zord...
ReplyDeleteNever mind, I take that back. The dog zord is a separate one. My bad :P
ReplyDeleteGotta admit Bandai America wins in the gamagamajyu
ReplyDeleteThe megazord looks fine it doesn't look as good as the Japanese version but it was never going too the only piece of it that looks weird is the yellow rangers zord the Japanese version did a much better job of disguising its purpose in truck mode. The figures also look great the boys look like the same toys that were released in japan and its great that not only are we getting new molds for the girls but were also getting more monsters. The only thing we see here that I'm not OK with is the role play set specifically the morpher it looks like crappy knock off and I can't for the life of me figure out why. The buttons are too small and too close to the guard I wasn't expecting the thing to have lights in the blade like the Japanese version but they could have included fire decals and why does the blade have to extend the way it does why couldn't it just be one static piece? Other than the morpher the Karakuri Henge looks fine although we can't see any of its weapon parts yet and the slight redesign for the Gama Gama Ju a welcome change as far as I'm concerned finally I'm not mad nor am I surprised that the shuriken are made of foam.
ReplyDeleteSo they're not doing the different rangers on the shuriken... Just red on all of them with different colored blades and different shapes?
ReplyDeleteThis is just lazy, and going back to the whole red-centric thing that everyone hated about Ninninger.
Oh, gee, look at that- BA overcompensated AGAIN. (Seriously, who here is surprised by this anymore...?)
ReplyDeleteThey removed the expensive miniaturized NinShuriken electronics- as they rightfully should have- but then swung all the way into Happy Meal territory by literally neutering the series-wide gimmick altogether.
Either Bandai America needs to stop being cowards and produce regular non-collector-oriented toys for more than $0.30-per-unit, or Bandai Japan needs to stop encouraging BA by making hot new shit each year; I can't decide which one is worse.

Now I can own a Fuuka Figure. Granted I could just buy the Vinyl.
ReplyDeleteConsidering it's BoA, it doesn't look to terrible unlike previous products. Though I wished they could have done a little more work on Dragonmaru's tail. At least they learned their lesson by trying to change the color scheme of a zord.
ReplyDeleteWhen is the release date for Power Rangers Ninja Steel figures
