"Char Aznable" Joins Hunter×Hunter Anime Chimera Arc

It has been announced that voice actor Shuunichi Ikeda (Mobile Suit Gundam's Char Aznable) lend his voice to Kite, for MADHOUSE's Hunter×Hunter anime's upcoming Chimera Ant Arc. Kite is the apprentice of Ging Freecss, Gon's father.

This will be the first time Kite will show up in MADHOUSE's anime adaptation, as some parts of the first few chapters from the manga were not animated, but was shown in Nippon Animation's adaptation. Kite was the one who told Gon that his father is alive and is a professional Hunter. He later showed up in the Chimera Ant arc when Gon and Killua ended up going to him, instead of Ging.

In the Chimera Ant Arc, Kite has been hired by the country of Kakin to do ecological research as part of a biological survey, leading a team of seven kids aspiring to become Hunters. Gon, Killua, and his team ended up in NGL to exterminate the dangerous creatures.

Gon happens to be played by Megumi Han, the daughter of Keiko Han. Ikeda played Char Aznable in the Gundam anime franchise, while Keiko Han played Char's tragic love interest Lalah Sune. Megumi Han said that Ikeda is like a father to her, so she is happy he can voice a father figure to her character.

Hunter×Hunter's Chimera Ant Arc starts April 21st.

So approximately 8 more episodes until Chimera Ant arc. I don't know if I should be excited about this or not. On the one hand the anime is going up until the beginning of the new world arc which excites me as a fan. On the other hand the manga is on hiatus yet again...
All I know is I hope he continues with the manga again soon otherwise this anime will come to an abrupt end.
A nice clear headed post without any jokes about Chimera Ant arc taking forever due to it being put on repeated hiatus. LOL

Agreed. But with his medical condition we can all understand all the delays with this manga.

I'm just glad more of his stuff is being animated. And at least the Ant Arc was finished before this portion was animated.

They will probably stop after this arc with maybe a teaser to the New World arc.
