Power rangers is a good franchise but it needs to die now or have a long break because everybody knows the super sentai series now, why cant they just dub the sentai and kamen rider shows instead now instead of creating a show past it's sell by date

It's because both sentai and PR are intended for a children to pre-teen audience. Even for many veteran fans who are aware of the Sentai verse, kids however do not. Either way the editing helps since a lot of cultural barriers and different practices wouldn't be as acceptable by N.A. FGC standards for a young audience. Take Go-Busters for instance; while the story is nicely grounded, a single death in the series would label it as obscenely dark in a English dub. Same could be said for most sentai dubs..

GoseiKnight is the greatest idea since DekaMaster, BullBlack, and Ninjaman.

The other anon to answer your question of why Saban couldn't of just dub over the original sentai show is the same reason for the anime. America would have a negative reaction towards all the Japanese culture which is why they changed the names and censor and alter things. Airing a show entirely of Japanese people might piss off a ton of people apparently. So thats why can't do it.

I hope the rumours that Gokaisilver being used THIS season isn't true. OR that they plan to use the Gokaisuits and their "Power Up Mode" so THEY can change into the previous rangers.

I'm not a huge fan of the current ranger season but I like their direction so far. I'm afraid that they are trying to be epic way too quickly. Maybe they are afraid that they will lose their young audience to ADD.

But, if they need a way to introduce the next batch of rangers, here is how it should go (free of charge)


"Captain Marvellous" (please keep that name) is an Galactic Space Thief that steals anything he deems valuable and rare (kind of like the King of Bandits: Jing). He is hired by the bad guys to mess with the rangers steal the Ranger keys for their cave. At some point he finds the REAL purpose of those keys, he returns them to the rangers for the final Ranger War or MEGA BATTLE.

However, in the event that the rangers lose, the keys will be scattered throughout the galaxy.


Fast forward to a year after the war and we see that "Captain Marvellous" has gathered his own rag tag group of rangers to reclaim those keys... blah blah blah... Best season ever!!!!

One liners that have lost all likability: check
No drive for originality between adaptation and source: checkmate

Seriously, if they really adapt Gokaiger as their power-up, I have no more hope for Saban. They need to make something original. Something less compromising. China was able to somewhat make an original series, why can't Saban.

Disney Power Rangers was WAY better written than Saban's. RPM was a fantastic series,

I feel like every monster in PR Samurai and Megaforce have the same voice and their one liners are horrible.

It isn't thanks to Saban that PR made it 20 years, it's thanks to Disney who kept the show going. Saban is just back to try and take credit for success but they're making this show borderline unwatchable.

I have never face palmed so much while watching a show...

You know what's funny about the people bitching on this site? They're adults who don't understand the show is not marketed entirely for them. It's obvious by the way the cast says their dialogue. They talk so that KIDS can better understand the show.

The older saban series suffered from being too catering to adults and kids were not into the series as much anymore; thus leading Saban to sell to Disney (a kid oriented company). Then people screamed bloody murder about what Disney needed to do with the franchise. They hit the sweet spot among adults with RPM but it damn near scared the hell out of a lot of kids. That's what made them redo MMPR. They needed a palate cleanser for the kids.

Now Saban is building his brand all over again and the adults nerds are going apeshit again... Yes, I said nerds. Better yet, they're nerdy fanboys who don't understand it's a kids show. They're like weaboos in a way. I never see this level of crap on rangercrew.

You have no clue about the business world, do you? DO you know what licensing terms are? How about Contract Obligations? You do know that Saban is using Toei's footage with permission from the company with conditions attached, right? The shit China did has no relation to Toei or Saban.

Short story: Toei has the final say over what can be done with their footage. He can't create something entirely original from another company's footage. MMPR wasn't even entirely original!

What do you mean, GoseiKnight was probably the best aspect of Goseiger. I really can't see why people shit on non human sentai members for the sake of lacking human actors? A lot of them have pretty well reknowned anime voice actors.

As for the others, I understand that we are not the shows targeted demographic, but that does not exempt us from our disappointment with the series. Also Sentai elitists out there should realize that Goseiger wasn't much of a magnificent series either.

I would like to point something out.

I owe PR a lot. I watched it a majority of the time when I was a kid and loved it beyond belief. True, when I grew up, I started watching it less and less, but I continued to watch it when I could because it was still great to watch. As I grew, the level of dedication and work being put into it grew with it.

Even though PR introduced me to Super Sentai, I never wanted to give PR up. I would enjoy both as much as the other.

It is merely the fact that PR has changed since Saban took over, and isn't what I remember it to be. The level of dedication and work seemed to take a step backwards. I wanted to like Samurai, I REALLY did, but I just couldn't. Same goes for Megaforce. It's not that I down right hate the show altogether.

If anything, I hate the fact I have to hate Megaforce.

I've never stopped being a fan of Power Rangers, but a fan must have a few dislikes, and the current seasons have been mine.

Is the person who said they should just add subs fucking serious? What is the point! If you want to watch Goseiger/Gokaiger with subs it is readily available on the internet! Good lord, I don't understand you people at all.

And the other one who says everybody knows about Sentai. Lmao! I said it in the other thread, but I'm sure the little 7yr old kid, you know, the target audience of this show, knows what Sentai is. I want you to go show Sentai footage to someone in their 20s in America. I guarantee they will tell you it is Power Rangers. Just last year a friend posted a video of the Sentai war from Gokaiger. Guess what she thought it was? Drum roll please. Power Rangers! You know what Americans think Kamen Rider is? Well, I don't know. Maybe umm, Power Rangers?

I don't understand why Toku-fans (And this goes for all rabid & blind fanboys) can't understand just because YOU love, and know of something, doesn't mean the rest of the world does. If Tokusatsu was popular in America, why hasn't Kamen Rider been adapted yet (Save for Ryuki)? Because nobody in the States cares. It has no brand name. Power Rangers though? $$$$$$$.

Although I agree with that 100% We don't need 10 people saying the same thing over and over. People are entitled to their opinions, but truth be told, Samurai and Megaforce's writing is just plain BAD. Heck, I've been watching Power Rangers since I could walk, The writing now, would've worked years ago with Zeo or something like that. This Generation of kids unfortunately are exposed to much darker things on television nowadays that make megaforce look like sesame street. And comparing it to past series (not super sentai mind you) It pretty much looks that way. The Acting is pretty bad (Jake and Gia are actually great, and possibly Noah) Roboknight's acting sounds as stale and emotionless as theirs do... Let's face it: Saban's old, and he clearly doesn't know what he's doing anymore. This obviously isn't an anniversary series that we expected. What we got, were a bunch of bad actors, re-using lines and cliches that should've stayed in the 1990's with Jason and the original Rangers, and stock footage that's been poorly edited and resued over and over (My main annoyance coming from Creepox's armor how it disappears and re-appears because they start off using goseiger footage from episode 16 when we find out he survived, and then end it with giant monster footage from when we was alive in episode 13, where he still has his armor and datas has been edited out of the shot)

Kids show or not, None of you can say this show is good. Of course you can say that "it's a kids show, they won't care, etc." but you gotta give kids credit. They're not as stupid as you make them sound, they can tell when something's really bad.
