I'm getting tired of Ash. They need to get a new protagonist, or better yet, make Pokemon Special an anime.

  3. Does anyone doubt that? XD

Can't Ash be the master already?!

  6. Anonymous Says:

Excellent. The reason I don't watch the current anime is STILL the protagonist. Ash is the worst anime character created. Finding it hard to think of worse right now.

  7. Anonymous Says:

    *They will be available

  8. Anonymous Says:

New Protagonist for Series 6(XY is Series 5) since they said Ash will still be the anime's protagonist, hopefully they have some set up this series, where a unique character is Ash's travelling companion and that it acts sort of like a passing the torch deal.

  9. Anonymous Says:

    Ash grow up please

  10. Anonymous Says:

Butthurters please take note the following FACTS: 1)Pokemon is a kid's show [no doubt about that, it is GEARED TOWARDS YOUNGER INDIVIDUALS, notice the cutesy designs]. 2)The kids love Ash as much as they love Pikachu. [they're popular, you know] 3)The producers of the Pokemon anime loves them as well. [it's more profitable to use a popular character that to create a new one] and lastly 4)The format/theme of the Pokemon anime is to bring happiness/encourage children. [yeah. yeah. yeah. it is NOT about beating the HELL OUT EVERYBODY]

No wonder Ash isn't a Pokemon Master yet because the main plot line revolves around his dream. If he reaches/realizes that dream then the show is over. Get it?

So technically speaking it's THEIR show NOT yours. So pissing and moaning and bitching and bitching and bitching and bitching about this is pointless.

and if you're getting tired of the anime please keep it to yourselves its not the like the producers of the show will listen to you. You're just stressing yourself.

  11. Anonymous Says:

Yay! Now we can reshash the plot all over again! Ash will never grow older than 10, as usual, and he'll lose at the Pokemon League! Such a deep and compelling story that isn't predictable in the slightest! ^.^

  12. Anonymous Says:

To thnk how dumb tht ash cz stil cant be master after 5 season liow. they should giv a fresh idea liow. Cant imagine how strong pikachu wil be if evo to raichu after 5 season exp.

Second verse, same as the first... and fourth... and fifth... and sixth...

  14. Anonymous Says:

Why am I not surprise, it was bound to happen, that's how the business rolls.

  15. Anonymous Says:

Why? Why are the producer of this show so afraid of changing the status quo of this anime?

I know plenty of anime that have switched over protagonist(s) and story and the viewers don't mind it all that much. They actually like it! Digimon did it! Yugioh did it! Hell Bayblade even did it!

I just saying is that the kids aren't all that stupid and wouldn't mind it if you switch it up every once and a while. And, if you keep on rehashing the same plot and characters, the kids are going to get bored and stop watching the show. I know a few kids that have already done this!

Sorry for the rant, but I can't get over it!

I never really mind about having Satoshi as the lead, just the fact that the staff kinda reset his skill, experiences and past character development in the BW series bugged me greatly. He inconsistently related to his past journey, like one day he got amnesia the next day he remembered anyone or anything. I'm (sure and) afraid by the time he arrives in the new region, everything will be reset to zero again, which means his road to Pokemon Master will be pointless. I guess a new hero is definitely needed to 'refresh' the show, because this is indeed getting a little too predictable, even for a kids show.
Oh, and I hope Iris and Dent will have at least decent sendoff too, because I don't see how their personal dreams are going well too. Kinda wish they would stick with him this time... -_-

  17. Anonymous Says:

@Anon above: Most people hate Ash's stupid Pikachu, rather than the Pikachu species.

And not all kids like Ash and his nonsensical strategies.

  18. Anonymous Says:

Ash better take the gold at the Kalos league this time because he traveled through 5 regions and never even made it to the semifinals of any of them and the Orange League doesn't count because it was just one guy.

  19. Anonymous Says:

let's count how many he's lost. here we go:

    1. indigo league= loses because charizard doesn't battle in round 5

    2. Johto league= loses to hoenn region pokemon (blaziken)

    3. Hoenn league= loses to gen 1 pokemon (meowth)

    4. Sinnoh league= loses to tobias in a 6 on 6 clean sweep

    5. Unova league= loss happened two ways technically speaking. 1. serperior nearly squeezes the daylights out of pikachu which would nearly have resulted in the worst loss in the history of the anime 2. he loses to prior generation pokemon (lucario) being trained by a noob

    6. Kalos league= has the potential to beat it if the writers want him to.

    and that is my restrospective.

  20. Unknown Says:

I wish they would make the anime more like the pokemon black and white 2 trailer. It needs to look more like an anime then a cartoon. I also agree with everyone else who says they should change the protagonist. Not a lot of kids watch pokemon anymore, it's the older generation that does and where tired of the same thing over and over. I hope this is the last season we see Ash as the protagonist.

  21. Anonymous Says:

LOL the Pokémon fanbase surely hates Ash

  22. Anonymous Says:

And once again, he is still ten years old. Why?!

  23. Anonymous Says:

@anon not true. Japanese people loves Pikachu.[they're the target audience, not the people from other western/asian countries] have you ever watched pokemon sunday? i guess you haven't.

  24. Unknown Says:

    I think ash should stay

  25. Anonymous Says:

Hey dude, the one tht like ash overtime (bahh is he gay) let met tell u one thing. The one who make pokemon glamour till ths time is not kids dude, there are adult tht stick to pokemon from season 1 til ths. All the profit is not from a tv series, its came from it game lol. Hate to see people tht like noe everythg bt act a zero

  26. Kurochi Says:

It was kind of obvious that Satoshi would remain as the main protagonist since he lost in the Unova League but still plans on pursuing his dream and travel. So basically no surprise on my end.

But I do agree that the protagonist must change. Main reason being that at first the anime was supposed to be a shounen but they are repeating the same plot over and over again. Every other shounen changed after a while or at the least became more serious.
I do understand that the main public that is aimed for from the pokémon franchise are kids. And new kids are born every day. So in that fashion it makes sense that they reuse the same Satoshi in EVERY season since season 1. And it makes sense when you relate to the games and the fact the beginning tutorial on how to capture pokémon and the tour around the market and pokémon center are always there even though most of the players already know how to do that.
So basically, they are not aiming to service the fans of the franchise with the anime, they are trying to get new fans in the kids that have grown to the age of buying pokémon merchandise over the last generation. Which is to me still very respectable because thanks to that WE can still enjoy more serious and more complex pokémon games over the ages.

Now what I hope for in the anime, and it is something I have seen to happen in the anime, would be that the anime would be more like the game in terms of storyline and battles. Most of you wouldn't notice but the battles and the storyline have been more serious in the beginning of Pokemon Best Wishes due to Team Rocket not focusing on capturing Pikachu anymore. So complain all you want about having Satoshi back as main protagonist, but think of it this way instead, what if Team Rocket takes their leave and AT LAST the evil corporation of the Kalos region takes the spotlight? That would make a complete difference wouldn't it? All we can hope for is that.

  27. Anonymous Says:

I prefer Unova's clothes of Ash.

Otherwise, I hope that Iris or Cilan will stay with Ash in Kalos

  28. Anonymous Says:

Ya know. The only bad part of the anime is how its portrayed in english. Why do people beat up on ash/satoshi. Yeah he's never aged. But a 20 year old as the lead. Alone witth a female. See where I'm going. Not a good Idea. Yeah he loses the leagues. But is he a crybaby. No. He gets up and trys again. Dont kids need to see that. He leaves friends behind. How would it look to have 5 fangirls and 2 fanboys following him. And if you don't like pokemon. Why are you even reading the articles about the anime in the first place.

  29. Anonymous Says:

Please just bring back Brock. I've never minded the new female companions, but I hated Cilan. Brock needs to come back for Kalos

  30. Anonymous Says:

Ash has swag and he should journey with Dawn and Paul in the 6th region it would be hilarious

  31. Anonymous Says:

I don't really care that much about wether or not the protagonist changes from ash, but it bothers me so much to what happened in the beginning of black and white series where like... all his skills knowledge and everything else where reset like that. well at least charizard joined the team in black white season 2.......
I just hoped that he has all the expirience he has gained just like in the diamond pearl series...

  32. Anonymous Says:

Ash looks taller in this but the could be because he is wearing skinny jeans. It's not Ash's fault he loses a league it's because he is either facing an opponent using super strong Pokemon (like Cameron) or battling Pokemon Ash is not familiar with or HE IS FACING FREAKIN' LEGENDARY POKEMON USERS LIKE TOBIAS. You people are blind because he loses because of those 3 main reasons not because his skills as a trainer are terrible....jeez -.-' Anyway in BW I mini raged because his age was reset to 10 and his Pikachu lost to a Panpour which in game wise is almost close to impossible. Ash looks older in this and I watched the teaser trailer of the anime for X and Y when he got out of the plane he looked older but like always show of a childish personality when he got of. I don't like Ash much but I do have a sense of respect for him since he is a honest and reliable trainer at times. I think for the Kalos league he might come in 2nd or 4th but I think that is too much of a stretch.

  33. Unknown Says:

It maybe your opinion but pokemon want be the same without ash there will be a lot of angry fans out there if they get rid of him.

  34. jus Says:

And too this thing ya,Don't known I'd guesstimate, that a new red and blue pokemon show come's out for the pokemon fan-dick's whom talk in comment fuck... thing's on the ash /satoshi for A BIGGEST ASS WIPE
NEWS FYI *Pokemon has done it in sinnoh show, for pokemon they made a pokemon ranger show and pokemon chronicles in japan in America but lack ranger version show in america so with red and blue the pokemon shows stop the little kids sucking to for a hope bash on ash/.

  35. Anonymous Says:

I loved pokemon when it first came out. I was 8 at the time. I watched the first set in Kanto and the orange islands. I watched the Johto too. After he went to the hoenn region. I still loved pokemon at the age of 11. However, I stopped watching the anime when I realized that it was just the same plot over and over. I still play its games.

If they wish to keep the same protagonist that is fine. However, kids Will get bored of him. I was a kid and I got bored of him. He is pretty lame. They have a larger fanbase then just the kids.

I could see them doing well by making an anime like the special short anime trailer clip they had for Black and White 2. That one looked way more action packed and looked like it would be interesting.

Heck, just make a second serious that would appeal to the older audience but continue to keep the lame current protagonist that has literally no depth or skill. You don't even see him get better because he loses at the last moment then leaves every pokemon behind. Then pikachu de-levels and gets stomped by a starter.

Pokemon is awesome, they just need to rethink the anime a lot to appeal to a wider audience. Getting rid of Ash would be a wonderful start. Pretty much everyone else is gone now anyway.

  36. Anonymous Says:

Well, personally, I like Ash/Satoshi. He represents someone who strives to obtain the ultimate goal, no matter how much he has lost.

That's all I'm going to say on this one.

  37. Anonymous Says:

Well the reason Ash is still around is cause of his pikachu. his pikachu is the mascot of the pokemon franchise. so if pikachu is axed this franchise is dead pretty much.
