No, this is not a crossover game with Digimon, Mega Evolution is a new feature that will be introduced on the latest installments of the Pokémon game franchise, Pokémon X and Pokémon Y. So far, six Pokémon are revealed to have the ability to use this type of evolution.
Currently known Mega Evolutions are MegaBlaziken, MegaAbsol, MegaMawile, MegaMewtwo, MegaLucario and MegaAmpharos. MegaBlaziken has Speed Boost; MegaLucario has Adaptability; MegaAbsol has the ability Magic Bounce; MegaMawile is Steel/Fairy-type, as well as normal Mawile now, and has the ability Huge Power; MegaMewtwo has the ability Insomnia; and MegaAmpharos is an Electric/Dragon and has the ability Mold Breaker.
Three new species have also been revealed. This includes Meekuru (メェークル), a Grass-type that evolves to Gogoat; the Electric/Fairy-type Dedenne (デデンネ), an Antenna Pokémon and has the abilities Pick Up or the new ability Cheek Pouches; and the rabbit Horubii (ホルビー), a Normal-type and and Digging Pokémon that has the abilities similar to Dedenne.
The game will also introduce the Super Training Facility.

The image reveals the first event for Pokémon XY. A Torchic will be distributed from October 12th to January 15th, which holds a new item called Blazikenite and has Speed Boost as its Hidden Ability. This Blaziken can eventually become MegaBlaziken, where it is mentioned to utilize something called a Mega Stone.

Not really both represent bastardizations of japanese concepts the Japanese renaming of stages is horrible there is no Mega outside America and japanese and it's called Shinka not Digivolution. and PR is a bastardized of Sentai so.

"Mega" is not what that Digimon stage is called in Japan. That was invented by the US translators.
US: Fresh > In-Training > Rookie > Champion > Ultimate > Mega
JP: Baby I > Baby II > Child > Adult > Perfect > Ultimate

Plus, this is NOT ripping off digimon or moreso power ranger (seriously, what's the connection with pr anyway?). This is simply a renamed feature that already existed in past title. It's called Form Change, and many pokemon (Giratina, Shaymin, etc) had already done it before

My point is genres will always be repeated and the ideas from each genre will always bounce off each other. That's how they evolve. Just relax, if you don't want to play it then don't. No need to go bashing a game just because it's not 100% as the very first one.

Wow people, calm down. What this article forgets to mention is that the Mega-Evolutions aren't permanent. They are only available in battle.
This seems like kind of a stretch, but I am definitely willing to give it a chance. People have been asking for "God" evolutions since Red & Blue.

Well, pokemon creators think digimon is "dead" so they use "mega" evolution it. I think their target players are the kids this days. Since kids this days haven't watched digimon, they will say that mega evolution is part of pokemon. Digimon is not dead. It has a game, an online mmorpg game played by millions around the world. It's called Digimon Masters Online.
