Gen Urobuchi and Kamen Rider Gaim

Writer Gen Urobuchi (Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet) stated in an interview at the latest issue of Hyper Hobby Magazine that it's a dream come true in writing for Kamen Rider Gaim. This is all thanks to voice actor Tomokazu Sugita (Kamen Rider Kiva).

In the said interview, Urobuchi also claims the Kamen Rider Gaim will go back to a style not seen in almost ten years, and will break the two-part story arcs, present since 2007's Kamen Rider Den-O. It is said that the show will return to what he calls the style of shows seen through Kamen Rider Kuuga and Kamen Rider 555, and do hope that this will portray a more dramatic take on the characters and situations.

Urobuchi also talked about the characters in Kamen Rider Gaim. He describes Mitsuzane Kureshima/Kamen Rider Ryugen as a thoughtful character who doesn’t wish to be a burden on anyone else; Kaito Kumon/Kamen Rider Balon will play a character who is initially argumentative and quick to anger despite having a pure heart; and, Takatora Kureshima/Kamen Rider Zangetsu as the "Kamen Rider Ouja" of the series.

Kamen Rider Gaim premieres October 6th, a week after the Kamen Rider TV special featuring Kamen Rider Wizard, Decade and the other Heisei Kamen Riders.

Why does the 2nd Riders looks similar to Ohja

Wow, he's actually the addressing the two-part structure we've been getting for the past few years.

I've always had a few things against the 'two-part structure' even though the past few seasons have been good, and I'm pretty hyped that we're getting a story that seems to be written in the style of early Heisei.

I've been fine with some of Urobuchi's anime work, so hopefully he'll find the transfer to Tokusatsu a comfortable one.

Looks like Gen the Butcher is going to make this into an awesome show after all.

  12. Anonymous Says:

Back to the original Heisei style? That would be nice.
But if someone actually died in the series...wouldn't that be too much? Oh wait, Meitantei Conan has dead corpse every week.

  13. Anonymous Says:

Early Heisei, through 555? So, one of the Rider will do some raping? LOL

  14. Anonymous Says:

As far as I remember only Agito, Faiz and Kabuto didn't have 2-episodes arcs o.o

  15. Anonymous Says:

Zangetsu is a villain? So Baron is Knight of the series.

  16. Anonymous Says:

Damn, he sure does making it straight to the point of trying to break the common two story-arc..like he's really aiming for it

And ehem.. sounds like haters gonna stop complaining, take back their words and love the show!..(oh wait) they always do that,at first say"I hate it and then " it's so good,I love it"

Am I getting too sarcastic? Haha

  17. Anonymous Says:

I watched the video and it seems to me that the voice of the Sengoku Driver is the SAME voice of Nitoh's Beast Driver... :o

  18. Anonymous Says:

if there is a rider that will die then i will expect more riders to show (there is still no apple)

  19. Anonymous Says:

Ouja of the serie? Will there also be Kaixa of the serie? Because Kaixa is more ambigious as he is anti-hero unlike Ouja who is villian.

So Zangetsu will be villian rider?

    Thank you Urobutcher!

Wow now I'm pumped for the show. I'm so happy they breaking the recent trends in the rider series. The whole 2 part episode arcs and bi weekly victims episodes got old and boring really fast. It was only Double that really went well with that formula. I'm glad they are going back to their roots with the early heisei rider shows like Kuuga and Faiz. If Gaim has 50% of what those old school rider shows have then it's gonna be a sure winner. I can't wait!!!!!!!!

  22. Anonymous Says:

ok where is this "people die then they are killed" thing coming from?

  23. Anonymous Says:

I'll be upfront I never liked any of the earlier Heisei seasons.

One thing is that they took themselves way too seriously that they forgotten how to have fun. The result was the they had a bleak, bland, and lifeless atmosphere.

I mean c'mon this show was created to sell toys to kids so I don't think they should've took it so seriously.

The original Den-O became so popular because it was like a breath of fresh air from the lifeless and bleak trend of the previous seasons.

When W and OOO arrive they brought back the fun factor back to the KR franchise and are the best of the current seasons.

I had no problem with the two episode arc because I thought it allowed KR to diffirentiate themselves with Sentai. The original Den-O, W , OOO managed to fully utilize it effectively but with Fourze and Wizard not so much.

^Honestly, I think that's what the fruit theme is for. That's probably why they let Urobutchy get away with it.
