It has been announced that the new anime series directed by Shinichiro Watanabe (Macross Plus, Cowboy Bebop) at animation studio BONES, SPACE☆DANDY will run on television in Japan, North America, and Asia nearly simultaneously in January! Not only that, Toonami viewers also get a chance to watch the anime ahead of its Japan premiere!
In Japan, it will run on Tokyo MX TV, TV Osaka, TV Aichi, and BS Fuji, meanwhile, Cartoon Network's Adult Swim in North America and Animax Asia in Asia (except Korea) will air the anime in their respective territories. Funimation will also be streaming the anime with English subtitles.
Additionally, additional characters had been announced. This includes Unshou Ishizuka as Dr. Geru, a brilliant scientist pursuing Dandy; Kosuke Hatakeyama as Bee, a cucumber-like assistant of Dr. Geru from the planet Pylori; Banjou Ginga as Commodore Perry; Yurin as Honey, a waitress at the Boobies restaurant; and, Houko Kuwashima as the beautiful inspector at the space alien registration center, Scarlett.
The story centers around the titular character, Dandy, an alien-hunter. His job is to seek out new alien beings never seen before. Dandy then receives a reward whenever he finds a new species. His mission is to find those new species faster than anyone else! He travels around the galaxy together with the robot QT and the alien Meow he picked up along the way.

Uh, let's check the Anime News Network article you guys listed at the bottom of your article (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2013-10-25/space-dandy-to-run-on-tv-in-japan-n-america-asia-in-january), shall we?
>North American anime distributor Funimation is charge of the home video release and is producing an English dub for the television release.
>producing an English dub for the television release
Please correct your information, it's inaccurate and ANN's mention of FUNimation handling the English dub that Toonami will be airing has been confirmed by FUNimation themselves (https://twitter.com/FUNimation/status/393723631559524352). Toonami has repeatedly insisted (and even been mentioned on an on-air bump that aired on October 6th's broadcast: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=6Rx-yvDfhTc#t=24 ) that they won't be airing subbed shows.
^Thanks. Forgot to add the "FUNimation" part on the said paragraph. The post is now fixed.
Thanks for the correction! Much appreciated.
