“Kanojo wa Uso o Aishisugiteru” Live Action Film Gets Prequel Drama Series


Fuji TV announced that the live action film adaptation of Kotomi Aoki's shoujo manga “Kanojo wa Uso o Aishisugiteru(Love, I Lied About Loving You) will have a ten-episode prologue drama series which will start airing on December 9th.

To be entitled Kanojo wa Uso o Ai Shisugiteru Side Story ~Boku to Kanojo ga Deau Mae no Monogatari~ (A Story of Before She and I Met), the drama series will run for 10 minutes per episode, and will air on Fuji TV for two weeks on weekdays on its late-night block from December 9th. The full 15-minute version of the episodes will run on Fuji TV Two on December 16th.


The episode titles are as follows:

  2. The Vision of Autumn Dumplings Soak Into My Eyes
  3. The Day the Underdog Was Chosen
  4. The Boy Who Didn't Stand Out Beside Shun Sakaguchi
  5. In the End, Music is Business
  6. I Definitely Won't Practice in Front of People
  7. I Hate Twisted Things
  8. Yū-chan's One-Sided Love Diary
  9. Accoustic Guitar and Electric Guitar and Tambourine
  10. The Song I Send to My Precious Person

The film will be led by Takeru Sato (Rurouni Kenshin, Kamen Rider Den-O) and newcomer Sakurako Ohara. Additional cast includes Ryo Yoshizawa (Kamen Rider Fourze), Yuki Morinaga, Saki Aibu (Death Game Park, Zettai Kareshi), Takashi Sorimachi (1998 GTO live action), and Mitsuki Tanimura (Yae no Sakura). The members of Crude Play will be played by Shohei Miura (Saki, Gokusen 3 SP), Masataka Kubota (Shiritsu Bakaleya Koukou), Kouki Mizuta, and Kodai Asaka (Hana Kimi 2011).


Aki Ogasawara is the reclusive, idealistic composer of the popular band Crude Play. Discontented with his life and with no drive to succeed, he meets Riko, the 16-year-old grocer's daughter in a band consisting of her childhood friends, and asks her to be his girlfriend on a whim. However, what Aki does not know is that Riko is actually a huge fan of Aki's music. Even with his girlfriend, Aki cannot escape the world of music.

Directed by Norihiro Koizumi (Flowers), with screenplay by Tomoko Yoshida (Bokura ga Ita), “Kanojo wa Uso o Aishisugiteru” will open in December 14th.
