On Monday, the first footage of the upcoming live-action film of Monkey Punch's famous manga, Lupin III was shown during TBS's Asachan (Morning Chance) program.
As the highlights of the film, Lupin and his gang will be infiltrating the high security of the Ark of Navarone which seems like a gigantic fortress safe that claims that the Crimson Heart of Cleopatra lies. It has been said that whoever possesses this treasure shall "unite the world."
Oguri Shun (Crows Zero, Detective Conan, Gokusen 2) plays the role of the famous thief, Lupin and working together with him are Kuroki Meisa (Crows Zero, Ninkyo Helper) as Fujiko Mine, Tamayama Tetsuji (Gaoranger, BOSS) as Jigen Daisuke, Ayano Gou (Rurouni Kenshin, Kamen Rider Faiz) as Ishikawa Goemon and Asano Tadanobu (Thor) as Detective Zenigata Koichi. F4's Jerry Yan (Meteor Garden) will play an original character which happened to be Lupin's nemesis, Michael Lee. Also, South Korean actor Kim Joon (Boys Over Flowers) and Thai actor Thanayong Wongtrakul (The Man from Nowhere) were included in the cast.
To direct the film is Kitamura Ryuhei (Godzilla: Final Wars, Azumi) while Yamamoto Mataichiro (Crows Zero, Azumi) is in-charge of the script. With this, the film is scheduled to premiere on August 30th.
