Gravure idol and Hikonin Sentai Akibaranger actress Kyoko Hinami will be starring in a period drama film entitled “Sakurahime”. The film will be based on Tsuruya Namboku IV's (1755-1829) masterpiece, and epic kabuki play “Sakurahime Azuma Bunshō”.
Hinami will play a girl who was attacked by an unknown thief one night. After the incident, Sakurahime becomes obsessed with finding the man, whose identity was hidden aside from a distinctive tattoo. Later, she gets herself a matching tattoo and becomes a prostitute in order to seek him out.
Munetaka Aoki (Rurouni Kenshin, Ryomaden) will play as Gonsuke, the man who attacked Sakurahime. It is said that the two will share a love scene. Additional cast includes Denden, HIRO and Kuro-chan of the comedy trio Yasuda Dai Circus, AV actress Yuma Asami, and Makoto Nonomura.
Directed by Hajime Hashimoto, “Sakurahime” will premiere on June 29th at Human Trust Cinema Shibuya.
