A brand new Pokemon was teased earlier in an episode of Pokemon Smash, resembling the original generation's Mewtwo. This Mewtwo look-a-like is scheduled to be included in the latest installments of the Pokemon game franchise, Pokemon X and Pokemon Y.
The new unnamed Pokemon will also debut in the upcoming animated feature film Extreme Speed Genesect: Mewtwo Awakens. So far, it has not been confirmed if this is indeed a Mewtwo evolution or a brand new Pokemon.

The mysteries of Pokémon X and Pokémon Y continue to grow with the unveiling of a Pokémon that is strangely familiar! It looks a lot like the powerful Legendary Pokémon Mewtwo, but not quite the same…
This new Pokémon shares many traits with Mewtwo, including a light-purple body and piercing, powerful eyes.
Along with this, there are currently seven known Pokemons for Generation VI: the three starters Pokemons — Chespin, Fennekin and Froakie — and this installment's Legendaries — Xerneas and Yveltal, and Eevee's new evolution, Sylveon. Pokemon X & Pokemon Y will be available for the Nintendo 3DS, and are scheduled to be released worldwide this October.
Seems more like a Mew evolution than a mewtwo evolution... or maybe it's a mewtwo pre evolution.

ReplyDeleteMewtwo is a clone, and thus probably wouldn't be able to evolve. They merely presented the fact that it looks like Mewtwo in the official announcement.
ReplyDeleteIf it's an evolution at all, it would probably be Mew's evolution. Because if Mewtwo is Mew's clone, why wouldn't Mew's potential evolution look like it?
Can't be. Gotta be another Pokemon in the family though. Maybe a long lost experiment...

ReplyDeleteI don't think this Is an evolution to Mewtwo I believe It to be a form like Shaymin's flight form or Deoxys three other forms. It can also be to get people to start being more like what It's gonna be same as Sylveon. That way Pokemon get more attention.

Most legendaries don't and doesn't have evolutions. My guess is Team Rocket made another clone of Mew using its DNA. It could be a change forme of Mew or Mewtwo. Or the purest form of Mew if combined with Mewtwo.

ReplyDeleteI'll tell you what it's not: a pre-evolution. As someone rightfully stated before, Mewtwo is a clone. You can't have a previous form of a clone if the original form was the first form because that is what they cloned it as.
I purposely made that sentence confusing, but basically, anyone who thinks it's a pre-evolution is dumb.
whatever it is, they better not screw this up and call it mewthree or something along the line of mew+numerical >.>

They should just end the franchise already. Give it a 10 year break or something. Because clearly they are running out of ideas and are just dragging on for money. Just like yugioh.

ReplyDeleteif we're resorting to evolving older and unova pokemon and giving pre evo's to all of them, a 10 year break is in order to refresh the creative juices.
Hmm, when I see it I can't help but think of Phione and Manaphy. Since it has smaller proportions than Mewtwo but with its distinctive body type and with a smoother/simpler looking body style like Mew. Maybe it is a special egg legendary like Phione, that can only be obtained by breeding a certain pokemon, like you have to leave both Mew and Mewtwo at a daycare to get this?

ReplyDeletecalm down people your precious gen 1 pokemons aren't being killed they will still exist -.- and I don't see how they have been running out of ideas it seems they are trying to experiment with different ideas instead and you just don't like it. I for one enjoy all generations somewhat equally.

ReplyDeletePikachu already has an evolved form. It's known as Raichu. While it has happened before with other lines (Oddish, Ralts, and Snorunt come to mind. Eevee as well depending on your perception) becoming branched out in later generations, I doubt that Pikachu will ever branch.
Personal speculation -- This might be Mew's ACTUAL evolution considering Mewtwo was actually a genetically enhanced version of the original Mew. Well, of course, naming-wise I'm pretty sure they won't go with "Mewthree".
