Cinema Today reports that gravure idol and Engine Sentai Go-Onger actress Yumi Sugimoto had been cleared from acute pyelonephritis, and is expected to return to work on May 25th, after suspending all her work for two weeks.
Even with that said, Sugimoto will still be monitored by the doctors. “I'm sorry for causing so much worry, and I will try and take better care of my body and face. I will try to drink more water (than before),” she assured fans.
It has been reported last May 10th that there was a sudden change in Sugimoto's physical condition after she appeared in the stage musical “Annie”. Sugimoto was then hospitalized, where the doctors found out that it is due to acute pyelonephritis, and was ordered to have absolute rest. Acute pyelonephritis is an exudative purulent localized inflammation of the renal pelvis (collecting system) and kidney.
