Ryo Yoshizawa (Kamen Rider Fourze, Daily Lives of High School Boys) will be starring as an airheaded monk Shōsuke Tamura in the live action drama and stage play adaptation of Ranjō Miyake's Bussen manga.
The original manga centers around the airheaded and clumsy monk-in-training Shōsuke Tamura who was sent as a spy at the "Bussen" Buddhist vocational school which was opened at a Buddhist temple to escape its financial difficulties. The school recruits students from around Japan who were not able to pass any of their high school entrance examinations and have been left behind by other schools.
The 10-episode Bussen drama will air on Tuesdays starting on July 16th. The stage adaptation will play for 16 shows between November 6th-17th at Tokyo's Akasaka ACT Theater.
