Koji Seto, Kie Kitano Stars in Live Action "Haganai" Film

It has been announced that actor/singer Koji Seto (Kamen Rider Kiva) and singer/actress Kie Kitano (Jōkyō Monogatari) will be starring in live action film adaptation of the Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai (Haganai) light novel series. Author Yomi Hirasaka reveals that the film will be a stand-alone work.

Seto plays the role of Kodaka Hasegawa, where he dyed his hair for the first time. The actor added that he felt he was destined for this film role, since he himself has hardly any friends. Meanwhile, Kitano plays Yozora Mikazuki, a solitary girl with an "imaginary friend".

The filming for the film had ended last June, and is scheduled to premiere early next year.

The original Haganai light novels follows the story of Kodaka Hasegawa, recent transfer student to St. Chronica's Academy, a Catholic high school. As with every other school he has ever attended, he finds it difficult to make friends there because of his naturally-blond hair and fierce-looking eyes, which make him look threatening to his prejudiced schoolmates.
