The first promo for the anime adaptation of Yūji Terajima's baseball manga Ace of Diamond had been released. The anime is led by Ryota Ohsaka (Gatchaman Crowds, Attack on Titan) as the pitcher Eijun Sawamura and Takahiro Sakurai (Berserk, Code Geass) as thw catcher Kazuya Miyuki.
The original manga follows the story of Eijun Sawamura. Sawamura is a pitcher who joined an elite school with a brilliant catcher named Kazuya Miyuki. Together with the rest of the team, they strive for Japan's storied Kōshien championships through hard work and determination.
Additional cast includes Nobunaga Shimazaki as Satoru Furuya, Natsuki Hanae as Haruichi Kominato, and Takahiro Sakurai as Kazuya Miyuki, with Yoshimasa Hosoya, Shintarō Asanuma, Yuuki Ono, Daisuke Namikawa, Masakazu Morita, Nobuhiko Okamoto, and Wataru Hatano.
Ace of Diamond is produced by MADHOUSE and Production I.G, with Mitsuyuki Masuhara (Blade, Kobato.) as the director and Takeshi Konuta (Library War, Blood Lad) on the series composition.
