Premiering October 6th, Kamen Rider Gaim will be directed by Ryuta Tasaki (Hikonin Sentai Akibaranger) and Takayuki Shibasaki, with scripts from Gen Urobuchi (Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet).

Honestly it was overhyped. It wasn't even that special. But whatever.

Kamen Rider Gaim's Henshn is very cool.
Pretty good for a first henshin
So Gaim's initial transformation is as clumsy as Den-O's intial Plat-form but he learns as quick as OOO. Not bad for a start.
DAMN!!! THAT WAS REALLY COOL!! I mean it's different, but that water splash DEFINITELY adds to the whole "fruit" like citrus type feel. Just wish it was tinted.
I love how he figured the belt mechanism on his own too. Like FINALLY a realistic henshin!! This series is very promising

I find it weird that when a Rider was literally transforming for the first time they just automatically say "Henshin". Like Eiji Hino/OOO.
Gentarou/Fourze only said it because Yuki told him to do it so he's excused. Ryoutarou/Den-O is similar because he was told to do so by Hana. Yusuke Godai/Kuuga said the word in the middle of a sentence so he doesn't count either.
Anyway; I think his transformation is VERY original since it opens up a portal to another dimension just to don the chest and shoulder armor. Plus said armor forms his suit and helmet!
Am I the only one around here who thinks this first fight makes a LOT of sense? He's obviously not going to be a flawless monster fighting badass the second he transforms. His confusion and lack of fighting experience on the first try is only natural.

I enjoyed it. Doubt we'll see inside the orange every week, but it was nice to see that initial change like that
Wasn't the best henshin sequence, but the last two series henshins aren't that spectacular either. No offense, but wizard's henshin is kinda bland. And fourze was a puff of smoke basically. I still think Decade's and OOO's had one of the more cooler henshins.
Guys the henshin wasn't that realistic! Like how does he know he has to press the button on the side to unlock the lock. And seriously, why did he think he could fight the monster??? No one told him the belt would make him a kamen rider, for all he knew it could of just been wearing a tacky belt buckle. At least in OOO, Anhk explained that he'd be able to fight and etc.
Technically this is more of a Half-Henshin (The sequence was cool, i give it that, but he didn't shout "Henshin". oh well, there's always next time)
What are you talking about? Ankh told Eiji that the OOO driver would allow him to "Henshin" therefore he said the word henshin plus it means transform kinda obvious to say transform! Similar to Sentai ie: Tensou! Or Gokai Change! Heck even Kyoryu Change.

Have you watched the episode yet? He knows how to open the lock because they're are common objects in the city he lives in, people use them to fight with tiny monsters ala YuGiOh or Bayblade.
With that in mind the thought process probably goes something like: "ok there's a big scary monster in front of me. It came from the same magical forest where I found this LockSeed. Maybe I can use this seed to summon a monster and fight it!" When that didn't work he put it on the belt he found and boom! He got more than he barge der for!
