How to Prevent the Pokémon X/Y Save Bug, Fix Coming Soon

Ever since the release of the latest installments of the Pokémon game franchise, Pokémon X and Pokémon Y, last October 12th, a number of people reported that their saved game had been corrupted after saving in the Lumiose City.

An issue has been found in the game that after the player saves the game in certain areas and then reloads the save file, the controls may become unresponsive, some even lead to game corruption. Nintendo announces that a fix on this glitch/bug is currently being worked on.

In the mean time, Nintendo had posted a simple solution on how to avoid or prevent this from happening. Please make sure you don’t save the game while in the areas marked on the map above (blue area). You can still save the game anywhere else in Lumiose City, including inside buildings such as Pokémon Centers.

Additionally, for those who have corrupted files, Nintendo is preparing an application to recover saved game data, and will soon be made available to download from Nintendo eShop as soon as possible.

In Pokémon X & Pokémon Y, your adventure takes place in the Kalos region, home to beautiful skies and forests! It will be available for the Nintendo 3DS, and are scheduled to be released worldwide this October 12th. Pre-order now at Play-Asia and get FREE SHIPPING or order it via Amazon.com!

I think old time pokemon gamers had a good habit of saving in Pokemon center, that's why the 'glitch' didn't affect too many people. Those I know so far didnt even encountered one. Glad to know that Nintendo is very attentive to their consumer and immediately makes quick response. Way to go Nintendo!
