Kamen Teacher will have a live-action TV special that will air on Valentine's Day. This special will air a week before the premiere of the upcoming film sequel.
This special tells us the story of Gota Araki aka Kamen Teacher six months before the events of the live-action drama series. Araki is sent to St. Fictional High school to deal with the third year's Class D as an assistant homeroom teacher.
The students seem diligent at first glance and the class does not seem to have any problems in sight. However, the seemingly-normal school is actually surrounded by a barrier that isolates both the teachers and students from the outside world.
Nogizaka46's Mai Shiraishi will play the role of Akari Hayase, a student who attempted suicide at St. Fictional High School. The drama will also co-star Natsuna (Gantz), Masataka Kubota (Limit, Ōoku), Eiichiro Funakoshi (Liar Game: Reborn), and Takumi Saitou (Space Battleship Yamato [2010]).
