As it opens on July 19th, the theme song for the Pokémon the Movie: Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction will be sang by the popular band SCANDAL.
"Yoake no Ryusei-gun" (Daybreak Meteor Shower) was written by Tomomi, the band's bass guitarist together with the singer-songwriter Tanaka Hidenori, while Kameda Seiji produced the song. The single is set to be released on July 16th.
All members of the band are part of the Pokémon generation. Haruna (vocalist) said, "When I heard that we were given the opportunity to contribute the theme, I was so thrilled I felt like flying." The first game Rina (drummer) received was a Pokémon game. Lastly, the first movie Mami (guitarist) saw in theaters was a Pokémon movie.
