Thanks to the good folks at Power Rangers Now, a bunch of concept art for the rejected ranger suits from the upcoming Power Rangers movie has been revealed.
Some of these designs which didn't made the final cut were made by Constantine Sekeries, the costume designer for recent movies such as G.I.JOE Retaliation, Ghostbusters and Batman V Superman: Dawn of justice.

I will never complain about the new suits again!
Now this should have been Power Rangers Alien Rangers instead of Kakurager Ninjas
The ones at the top also kinda look like rejected Iron Man suit designs while the following ones kinda took the alien concept way too far (much like the official Alpha 5).
at least these suits you could see the animal design within the helmet..
Some of these really do look like Iron Man, all previous jokes about it aside.

I much prefer the rough exploration suit designs on the top of the page rather than the current suit designs. The problem with the current suit designs is that the main color looks likes is drenched over the entirety of the suit while the silver feels like a lazy after thought. In other words, the designs come off as overbearing due to the abundance of the main color rather than adding duller or darker colors to make the main color pop. That's what I like about the designs all the way at the top, the colors are evenly distributed and does not come off as overly dominant. In fact adding and properly placing blacks as well as a little silver makes the main color stand out. Lastly, the current designs feel like the designer couldn't decide between a more organic, or armored look. I much prefer the sleeker appearance of the rough exploration suits.

With that kind of track record I'm not surprised they look so much line Iron Man suits (specifically the Mk42). The thing that bothered me about the individual suits shown is the HORRIBLE duck pout.. one of the worst things about modern movies after Executive meddling.
Damn, these concept art makes the final design look like a masterpiece.
