Case Closed! Tsuburaya Productions Wins Ultraman Licensing Rights Against UM Corporation

At last, the long battle for the Ultraman licensing rights between Tsuburaya Productions and UM Corporation (Chaiyo) has been finally concluded yesterday as the court finally sided with Tsuburaya and ordered the case finally closed.

The hearing was held yesterday, November 20, 2017, at a Los Angeles federal court at 11:30 am were the jurors that were present delivered the unanimous verdict that favored Tsuburaya and won the licensing rights to the following Ultraman series listed in the document pictured below and deemed the 1976 agreement (which granted Chaiyo and thai businessman Sompote Saengduenchai) "not authentic" as the jurors thought that the document was not signed by Norobu Tsuburaya himself.

The case originally entitled "UM Corporation V. Tsuburaya Productions Co., Ltd. (TPC)" and anomalies were found in the document that was pictured above that deemed it to be to be invalid and/or forge. After the verdict was handed, the case was ordered close by Judge Andre Birotte Jr.

The jurors, lawyers for both companies that were represented and Tsuburaya representatives having a conversation outside the courtroom.

With the battle finally one, we can finally hope for a better and brighter future to the people that brought us our favorite red and silver giant hero. Congratulations to Tsuburaya Productions and all of the people who helped won the good fight.
