Well, this was certainly interesting, for only the first episode that is. Looking forward to next weeks, for sure ;)
so far lupinred is being a good red ranger with that serious tone of voice he showed in the 2nd clip. here's hoping he's good otherwise I'll like the patrangers instead because they sound serious.
A single episode and it was already better than the space fiasco from last year.
Every character has got characterization beyond concepts and we can see how both teams are related. The Lupinranger have a companion bond while the Patrangers are more professional. THe fight scenes are amazing and the aesthetics are pretty well done and original.
The show has got a lot of potential and I hope it can live up to this, unlike some space character clusterfuck..
This has got to be the first sentai premiere I've enjoyed in years. I think it helps that this is also the first premiere in a while that cut out the obligatory mech fight and the ending credits sequence entirely. Because of this, the writer had more time to give the audience a good grasp of the characters personalities through their dialogue and interactions. For the Lupinrangers, we know Kairi is a laid back mischievous young man, Tooma is a calm collected and analytical indvidual, and Umika is the ditzy childish comic-relief (though a flashback implies she's something of the emotional center of the team). As for the Patrarangers, Keiichiro is a hot headed high strung cop who takes his job very seriously, Sakuya is kind-hearted and naive, and Tsukasa is the most level headed member who keeps Keiichiro in line.
Previous Sentai premieres usually gave a disappropriate amount of time to the red while shoving in a mech fight just to sell toys as quickly as possible. Kyuranger is a prime offender of this, as it focused way too much on Lucky, tossed in Garu's entire character arc within the episode, and had the obligatory mech fight. That premiere honestly might've worked better if it cut out one of the latter two. Also, the fights were great, perfectly displaying the type of kinetic, fast-paced, and stylish action that we'll expect from a bunch of stylish attention-seeking thieves. Maybe this show will end up falling apart over the course of its run, but as of now, best of luck to the staff who already gave us such a stellar opening.
Is it just me or does Lupinranger costume look nearly identical to gokaiger before the cape, “tie” and helmets are added in the transformation sequence ?
Does anyone know where I can watch the first episode at I haven't been able to find a site yet.

NOW I KNOW WHY I JUMP OUT after EP14
THE SUIT THE CHARACTER (except Lucky) THE ZORD. All jump at me but I didn't Bite and all cuz of Lucky (BTW no hard feeling for the actor he did whatever he can)
