Yes folks! As the Gotham Gazette reports it, the age of heroes is finally here as the first DC Super Heroes Cafe Philippines branch is now open and it was a night full of fun and awesomeness with yours truly bringing bringing all of you the inside scoop of what went down in this invite only event!
Owned and operated by Almerak Corp. in partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products and DC Entertainment, The DC Super Heroes Cafe is a dream come true for all DC comics fans and enthusiast as it brings you the feel and ambiance inspired by various DC media from movies, TV series and comic books.
The newly established Philippines branch is located at the 4th level fashion hall, in SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City.
The event started with words of wisdom and inspiration from the cafe's managing director, Sir Edric Chua (who looks like clark kent), TDKPH's Paolo Ollera and Chef Kel Zaguirre.
DC fans, along with my friends from the cosplay community Izabel, Tim, Myke and Xidge, and of course, Boss Franz Sy, flocked the scene and enjoyed the company of other fans who talked about their favorite characters and comics from the DC universe.
Before entering the cafe, you will be treated by the statues of Batman (in tactical suit), Wonder Woman (who will be returning in a second movie) and Cyborg from the recent Justice League movie. Plus, you will get to see the iconic telephone booth that the man of steel uses to transform from Clark Kent to the Man of Steel!
Want to buy something from the cafe? Don't worry as the cafe also has a store that sells the latest issues of DC comics, Funko Pops, toys and statues.
Now time for the main delight: the food and drinks! The food and drinks that are included in the menu are also inspired by the DC characters such as Arthur's Curry (my instant favorite), Captain Boomerang's Lamb Skewers, Poison Ivy's Pretty Poison, Barry Allen's favorite Big Belly Burgers and much more at an affordable and reasonable price.
So what can i say about this place? It's a comic book fan's dream paradise come true! I definitely had an awesome time looking at all things DC super heroes, enjoyed the food and the good times that i had with friends and other solid fans that i chatted and exchange knowledge! I highly recommend the DC Super Heroes Cafe to all geeks out there along with family gatherings!
