Sayaka Yamamoto, leader and center of NMB48, announced her intent to leave the group.
On July 30 2018 during NMB48's Summer Live Tour the 25-year-old idol has made her announcement near the end of the concert.
Sayaka made her debut in 2010 as one of the first generation members of NMB48. she was assigned captain of Team N and by extension the whole group and has also been front and center for almost all of the group's singles and albums.
From 2014 to 2016 Sayaka has also been a concurrent member of AKB48 under Team K. Her activities with both NMB48 and AKB48 have helped boost her popularity nationwide.
Other than her success with NMB48, Sayaka has also made a name for herself as a solo artist as well as some acting roles on film and TV.
Her reason for graduating is her plan to continue her solo career, especially as a singer-songwriter. However, as of this article, she hasn't yet finalized the exact date of her departure from the group.
