With the international popularity of the anime and manga series Attack on Titan, a Hollywood adaptation may now be on the way.
Kodansha, the publisher of the worldwide hit manga/anime has announced that they are in talks with director Andy Muschietti, who became most notable for working on the 2017 version of the horror movie "It".
The Hollywood adaptation of Attack on Titan will be produced by Warner Bros. Films with producers David Heyman of Harry Potter fame, Masi Oka, who is popularly known as "Hiro" from the superhero series "Heroes", and Barbara Muschietti, sister of director Andy Muschietti.
An interview with series creator Hajime Isayama states that he is happy about this project.
Hajime Isayama created Attack on Titan in 2009, and adapted into anime in 2013. Seeing that the series also received a Japanese live action adaptation in 2014, starring Haruma Miura as the protagonist Eren Jaeger, the possibility for a western version has been long opened.
Details about the cast and release dates are still to come.
