Sony Puts Spider-Man 3 & Venom 2 Releases On Hold

It looks like our web slinging heroes wont be passing by as the third MCU Spider-Man and Venom sequel release will be on hold once again due to the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic.

It was recently reported that filming for Spider-Man 3, due to be released on December 2021, was supposed to begin this September 2020 but due to the still unresolved situation that has affected the whole world, it was again, pushed back to January or February next year.

Sony Pictures Entertainment chairman Tony Vinciquerra has this to say:

"What we won’t do is make the mistake of putting a very, very expensive $200 million movie out in the market unless we’re sure that theaters are open and operating at significant capacity."

With the pandemic still active across the globe, it seems that Sony will be putting serious regards on everybody's safety and of their film releases and this means that Spider-Man 3 and Venom 2 will be put on hold for now.
