Sad news has hit the Japanese entertainment industry today as legendary Japanese actor Sonny Chiba has passed away due to Covid-19 complications. He was 82.
Born Sadaho Maeda, he was best known for his roles in The Street Fighter, Message in Space, Golgo 13; Assignment in Kowloon, and tokusatsu series such as Uchuu Keiji Gavan, where he portrayed the role of Retsu Ichijoji/Gavan's father, Voicer. He was also in Kill Bill Vol.1 together with Kenji Ohba where he portrayed the role of Hattori Hanzo.
He was also the founder of the Japan Action Club which is known today as Japan Action Enterprise hose members are all Tokusatsu stunt suit actors.
