Thanks to this recent interview with Black Adam star Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, who accidentally spilled the beans, Superman's return has been officially confirmed!
In the said interview, Dwayne has said this exact words:
"Well, here's what I can tell you," Johnson replied, choosing his words carefully. "I can tell you that the whole goal and initiative of Black Adam was to build out the DC Universe by introducing not only Black Adam, but the entire JSA... and also, as I have been saying all along, there's an ethos that we at Seven Bucks [Productions] have... and that is, we always put the fans first... So, for years, audiences have been so passionate and vocal about-- we've established Black Adam as the most powerful and unstoppable force on our planet. But the fans have been so passionate about... 'Where is the most unstoppable force in the universe? Where is he?' Well... we've all been fighting for this moment, so I will say this: Welcome home."

All I can personally say is that, I'm very happy that the long wait for Henry Cavill to reprise his role as the man of steel is over and I hope that we will all see a great battle between the DCEU's most powerful beings.
Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, Black Adam is slated to premiere in theater on Friday, Oct. 21. Starring as Black Adam himself, the film stars also Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone and Pierce Brosnan as Doctor fate.
