Dragon Ball Z Battle of Gods Earns 2.2 Billion Yen in 16 Days!


After topping the Japan Box Office in its third consecutive week, Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods had already sold 1,823,141 tickets sold, earning 2,201,936,850 yen (about US$22 million), within 16 days! And with the Gold Week coming to in Japan, earnings are expected to rise up.

The film is currently the fastest-grossing film in Japan in 2013.

It manages to earn 683,925,000 yen from 561,098 tickets sold on its first weekend, making it the top-grossing non-American film on the Overseas Box Office Chart.


Taking place during the manga's "lost decade", The God of Destruction Bils awakens from a long inactivity, and challenges Goku in a battle!

Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods is directed by Masahiro Hosoda (Dragon Ball Z episode director) at TOEI, and written by Yuusuke Watanabe (20th Century Boys, Gantz), with a deep involvement of original author Akira Toriyama.
