Japanese Pacific Rim Poster by Blood's Katsuya Terada

Director Guillermo del Toro asks Blood: The Last Vampire illustrator Katsuya Terada to make his own rendition of the film poster for 2013's Hollywood tokusatsu filmPACIFIC RIM”. The director previously asked Metal Gear Solid's Yoji Shinkawa for the film's RealD 3D film poster.

Terada praises Pacific Rim as a "masterpiece". The film's Japanese voice cast can be found here.

When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity’s resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge.

To premiere on August 9th in Japan, Pacific Rim is Guillermo Del Torro's homage to the Japanese monsters, or kaiju films.
