Pokémon XY Gets 1.26 Million Pre-Orders, Opening Sequence Streamed


It has been reported that the latest installments of the Pokémon game franchise, Pokémon X and Pokémon Y had reached over 1.26 million pre-orders in Japan alone! It now sets a new record for most pre-orders for a Nintendo 3DS software title.

The record was previously held by Monster Hunter 4 with 1.17 million pre-orders. The Pokémon game franchise itself had already sold 172 million units of related titles worldwide, since the release of the first ever game, Pokémon Red and Green (Blue in the US) in 1996.

Additionally, the game's official YouTube channel streams its opening sequence featuring both the male and female characters.

    To thou who only comments negatively in pokemon news: You can say that its ripping off bla bla and the series is done for and that nobody cares. Well I guess over 1 million thought the opposite, and me and my friends and family haven't even preordered yet (to avoid shipping fee + ridiculous country's tax) but will be getting one as soon as its available in town. See? You're not the only single human being exists in this world, so please stop speaking like you're representing the thought of the entire human race.
