As expected by many, the recent Dragon Ball Z film, “Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods” debuts at the top of the Japan Box Office Weekend, earning 683,925,000 yen from 561,098 tickets sold on its first weekend!
By earning a converted amount of US$7,323,000, the film manages to rank on the 5th spot in the Overseas Box Office Charts, and became the the top-grossing non-American film on the chart.
Taking place during the manga's "lost decade", The God of Destruction Bils awakens from a long inactivity, and challenges Goku in a battle!
Directed by Masahiro Hosoda (Dragon Ball Z episode director) at TOEI, and written by Yuusuke Watanabe (20th Century Boys, Gantz), with a deep involvement of original author Akira Toriyama, “Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods” premieres March 30th.
