Before he worked on the original Ultraman TV series, Iijima was known for his work on the Ultra Q series as a writer and also a director. Under a pen name, he also worked on Ultraseven, Return of Ultraman, and other series.
Iijima retired way back in 1992 but he continued on working. His last works were the Ultraman Cosmos: The first contact and Ultraman Max's episode 33 and 34.
To all of us Ultraman fans from around the world, rest in peace, Mr. Toshihiro Iijima, and thank you for the legacy that you have left us.
