Saint Seiya CG Film's New Video Features the Saints' Powers

The fifth special video for Saint Seiya: Legend of Sanctuary CG film, "Prologue ~Shōjo no Tabi-dachi~" (Prologue ~A Girl's Departure~) has begun streaming on Tuesday through Toei Animation.

This new video features how Kido Saori discovers her true identity as the goddess Athena and the Saints showing their powers to protect her.



Man: Traitor Saori Kido, who identifies herself as Athena... I shall purge you.
Saori: I don't know anything about that! Also, you keep calling me Athena, but I...
Seiya: I made it just in time! You're Saori, right?
Man: Long ago in Ancient Greece, there was a goddess named Athena. The Saints are the warriors who are the shields to protect Athena.
Saori: Saints!?
Man: And to add to it all, you are that same Athena.
Saori: I don't get this! Why do I have to run away!? That's just weird! Something's wrong with this! There's no reason why I should be killed, but then there's also no reason that I should be running!
Seiya: Pegasus Meteor Fist!
Shiryu: Rozan Kōryu-ha!
Camus: Diamond Dust!
Shun: Nebula Chain!
Saori: Who are you guys?
Seiya: We came to protect you!
Saori: Protect me?

The original soundtrack for the film is scheduled to be released on June 18th as announced by the film's official website. Added to that, each copy includes one from 17 main character trading cards which is selected in random.

This popular Sanctuary arc is the one to adapted from Kuromada Masami's original Saint Seiya mythological fantasy manga of "Bronze Saints vs. Gold Saints." Also, both the official website and trailer contains the following quotation from the mangaka himself: "The Seiya legend began here." X Japan's Yoshiki will be contributing it's theme song "Hero (Yoshiki Classical Version)".

It was confirmed in February 2011 by Toei Animation that the production for a new computer-animated film of Saint Seiya had been pushed through. Satou Keiichi (Tiger & Bunny, Ashura) is in-charge of the project, while Kuromada is credited still as the original created and chief production supervisor. It is also him who gave the film's title. Aside form that, the screenplay is written by the scriptwriter of the six Tiger & Bunny episode, Suzuki Tomohiro.

The film is scheduled to open in Japan on June 21st and will be shown also in Mexico and Peru this year.

X Japan's Yoshiki to Perform for Saint Seiya CG Film's Theme

X Japan's leader Yoshiki (48) contributes and renders his voice for the theme of the upcoming Saint Seiya: Legend of sanctuary CG film. It has also been revealed that the song would be heard in every country that would be releasing this first Saint Seiya film in a decade.



"Hero (Yoshiki Classical Version)" has been written by Yoshiki himself for the film. Violet UK's female vocalist Katie Fritzgerald, would be singing the ballad while Yoshiki himself gets into the piano work. In fact, Yoshiki had watched the film before he produced the song being a self-professed anime fan. He put himself on deep thoughts about the kind of song that would perfectly match the film upon deciding to write this ballad. In addition, he said that the song has the hero's motif with beautiful melody that will bring great impact to the listener's heart.

The song will be unveiled on Yoshiki's 10-country, 13-city tour, "#Yoshiki Classical World Tour part 1" as it begins on April 25th at Costa Mesa, California.

Additional Cast Revealed for Saint Seiya: Legend of Sanctuary CG Film

On Tuesday, the additional cast members has been revealed at a press conference for the upcoming Saint Seiya: Legend of Sanctuary CG Film. Added to that, new character designs had also been posted up on their official website.

Miyamoto Mitsuru (Tiger & Bunny, Fruits Basket) as Aries Mu;

Koyama Rikiya (Ninja Scroll: The Series, Witchblade, Highschool DxD) as Taurus Aldebaran;

Hirata Hiroaki (Tiger & Bunny, Uchū Kyōdai) as Cancer Deathmask;

Inoue Go (Kuroko's Basketball, Tiger & Bunny) as Leo Aiolia;

Madono Mitsuaki (Bleach, Gintama, Inuyasha) as Virgo Shaka;

Kawada Shinji (Nodame Cantabile, Attack on Titan) as Capricorn Shura;

Namikawa Daisuke (Persona 4 The Animation) as Aquarius Camus;

Kirimoto Takuya (Summer Wars, Darker than Black) as Pisces Aphrodite;
Asano Masumi (D.N.Angel, Hyōka) as Scorpio Milo;

Ishikawa Kaito and Akabane Kenji Join Saint Seiya CG Film Cast

The voice cast of the Saint Seiya CG film "Saint Seiya: Legend of Sanctuary" has been announced on their official website last Thursday.


The chosen cast for the film are:

Ishikawa Kaito (Nobunaga the Fool, Golden Time, Tokyo Ravens) as Pegasus Seiya;

Akabane Kenji (Maganebu!, Star Driver) as Dragon Shiryu;

Ono Kensho (Kuroko's Basketball) as Cygnus Hyoga;

Okamoto Nobuhiko (Tiger & Bunny, Yogakura Quartet, Ao no Exorcist) as Andromeda Shun;

and Nojima Kenji (Psycho-Pass, High School DxD) as Phoenix Ikki

The Shueisha's Weekly Jump magazine has ran the manga from 1985 to 1990 and has 34.4 million copies printed worldwide as proclaimed by the teaser trailer. In fact, after that, it was quickly adapted to a television anime series in 1986 that has been popular not only in Japan, but also in France, Italy, other parts of Europe, Brazil, other parts of South and Central America, and Asia making the anime aired in over 80 countries around the world. It has been a decade since the last Saint Seiya film, Saint Seiya Tenkai-hen Hoso ~Overture~.

The official website for the Saint Seiya: Legend of Sanctuary computer generated anime film had released its latest visuals, as well as character arts. This features the five Bronze Saints and Athena.


The film is said to follow the story of the "Sanctuary Arc" of Masami Kurumada fantasy manga and anime. Keiichi Satou, of Tiger & Bunny and Ashura fame, will direct the film, while Tomohiro Suzuki, who wrote six episodes of Tiger & Bunny, will be the scriptwriter.

Saint Seiya: Legend of Sanctuary Film First Trailer Leaked

During the Tamashii Nations 2013 event last weekend, the first trailer for the Saint Seiya: Legend of Sanctuary computer generated anime film was seen for the first time! One fan manages to record the trailer and shared it via his YouTube page.


The film is said to follow the story of the "Sanctuary Arc" of Masami Kurumada fantasy manga and anime. Keiichi Satou, of Tiger & Bunny and Ashura fame, will direct the film, while Tomohiro Suzuki, who wrote six episodes of Tiger & Bunny, will be the scriptwriter.

Saint Seiya: Legend of Sanctuary Film Announced

Scheduled for Summer 2014 release is Saint Seiya: Legend of Sanctuary, the previously announced computer generated anime film. The film's title had been announced via the launch of the film's official website.

The film is said to follow the story of the "Sanctuary Arc" of Masami Kurumada fantasy manga and anime. The website has the following quote from Kurumada: "The Seiya legend began here."

Here's a short trailer released back in 2012. It was previously announced for July 2013 premiere.



Keiichi Satou, of Tiger & Bunny and Ashura fame, will direct the film, while Tomohiro Suzuki, who wrote six episodes of Tiger & Bunny, will be the scriptwriter.

The original manga focuses on an orphan named Seiya who was forced to go to the Sanctuary in Greece to obtain the Bronze Cloth of the Pegasus constellation, a protective armor worn by the Greek goddess Athena's 88 warriors known as Saints.

Super Musical Saint Seiya, the 2011 musical adaptation of the 1987 manga and anime series Saint Seiya by Kurumada Masami, was based on the anime's first movie, Saint Seiya: Evil Goddess Eris. Until now, I have no knowledge of the song title but this is the main theme of the Bronze Saints...

The Bronze Saints are: Kamakari Kenta (TeniMyu, AirMyu) as Pegasus Seiya, Uenobori Makoto (TeniMyu) as Dragon Shiryu, Abe Naoki as Cygnus Hyoga, Shinotani Hijiri (TeniMyu) as Andromeda Shun and Hirose Yusuke (TeniMyu) as Phoenix Ikki
Saint Seiya CG Film Moved to 2014

It has been revealed that the new computer-generated movie based on Masami Kuromada's mythological fantasy manga, Saint Seiya The Movie, had been moved to 2014 screening. It was previously announced for July 2013 premiere.


In 2012, TOEI Animation chairman Kozo Morishita stated that Toei Animation will produce a 13-minute promo for the film before the end of the year, which we didn't get.

Keiichi Satou, of Tiger & Bunny and Ashura fame, will direct the film, while Tomohiro Suzuki, who wrote six episodes of Tiger & Bunny, will be the scriptwriter. The film is said to have a top-level budget and will be delivered in S3D and CGI 3D.
