"Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods" Film Gets Philippine Screening


The wait is finally over Filipino fans! SM Cinema confirms that the recent Dragon Ball Z film, “Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods” will have its limited Philippine screening starting this August 14th. The film's home video release is slated for September.

The film debuted on the top of the Japanese Box Office Weekend, earning 683,925,000 yen from 561,098 tickets sold. On its third weekend, it became the fastest-grossing film in Japan in 2013, earning 2,201,936,850 yen (about US$22 million), within 16 days.

Taking place during the manga's "lost decade", The God of Destruction Bils awakens from a long inactivity, and challenges Goku in a battle!

Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods is directed by Masahiro Hosoda (Dragon Ball Z episode director) at TOEI, and written by Yuusuke Watanabe (20th Century Boys, Gantz), with a deep involvement of original author Akira Toriyama.
