Mantan Web had revealed the additional plot details for the live action adaptation of the action comedy manga “Kuroshitsuji” (Black Butler). The film is led by Hiro Mizushima (Kamen Rider Kabuto) and Ayame Gouriki (Gatchaman).

The film is set in the year 2020, more than 130 years after the original manga, at an Asian city where Western and Asian cultures freely intermingle. Since only males can take the reins of the Phantomhive family, the young woman Shiori dons male clothes, and took the name Kiyoharu Genpō in the purpose of leading the massive Phantom Corporation.

The world she lives in is divided between East and West. Working as an intelligence operative for the Queen of the Western nations, under the nickname "Queen's Watchdog", she is tasked to solve a "consecutive mummified mysterious deaths incident", and an incident involving a the disappearance of a few women. Later, she discovered a "black invitation" tying these two incidents together, leading to a world she should not have entered. And now, she is cornered into a dilemma.


Also included in the cast are Mizuki Yamamoto as the maid Lin, Yuka as Shiori's aunt Hanae, and fashion model Louis Kurihara as the undertaker Jay, with Masatô Ibu, Goro Kishitani, and Yuu Shirota.

Directed by Kentaro Otani (NANA) and anime creator Keiichi Sato (Tiger & Bunny), the “Black Butler” live action film premieres January 18th, 2014.
