Titanium Ranger Joins Power Rangers Super Megaforce... Almost

After the disappointing news regarding Steve Cardenas's appearance, it seems another Power Rangers actor got disappointed to Saban. Rhett Fisher, known to be the actor behind the US exclusive Titanium Ranger of LightSpeed Rescue, got invited to join Power Rangers Super Megaforce. ALMOST.

According to his Twitter post, Fisher got invited to do a cameo in Power Rangers (Super) Megaforce, but after a week, Saban took back their word due to budget restrictions.

It's kinda sad since Titanium Ranger is the first and one of the few Power Rangers exclusive rangers or heroes. It's definitely a good nod to the whole Power Rangers history if ever he got cast in. Sadly, it won't happen unless Saban changes their mind.

Power Rangers Super Megaforce is the 21st season of Power Rangers continuing the celebration of the series 20th anniversary. Based on the previous information, everything related to Goseiger will be spread into 20 episode first season. The Megaforce rangers, will acquire a new "power up" in Super Megaforce and must be in this "new power-up" (Gokaiger suit) to transform into past rangers... This will also feature the appearance of the "historical rangers".

YAY AND BOO! they should have increased budget and they have listened to my advice MOVE TO CANADA!

  2. Anonymous Says:

Seriously?! He is the first PR exclusive rangers to ever appear!
Saban better bring him back, regardless of budget!

  3. Oh Saban, you got dumped by an ex-ranger and now you retract about getting your first original legend?

  4. Anonymous Says:

I like how this is going.

  5. Anonymous Says:

What? did Jason David Frank ask for MORE money to do his 2 cameos?

  6. arale norimaki Says:

    Power Rangers
    rip

    1993-2009

  7. Anonymous Says:

Damn, this is very sad Saban are you just doing this just to rely on Sentai footage.. Really!!! I'm not fanboy or anything but why take out the only Ranger exculsive character!!

  8. Anonymous Says:

You're an idiot. JDF said he would return to the show for FREE. Please don't comment about things you clearly know nothing about. You just look like an asshat with that comment.

  9. Anonymous Says:

Before I read the full article, I assumed it just the actor who turned down Saban because of money but it's actually Saban who cancelled the appearance? That's a real shame. Like I said last time it really sucks Saban doesn't have an unlimited budget to really give the fans the best anniversary season for power rangers. I can only hope that they can at least get back one legend ranger from each season, but after reading this it seems unlikely :(.

  10. Anonymous Says:

Jdf doesn't do it for the money but for fun and the fans he has enough money from his fighting career

  11. Anonymous Says:

You mean the same Jason David Frank who said he'd do it for 1 dollar?

  12. James Burris Says:

JDF has publicly said that he'd do it for free just for the fans.

  13. iamjohnnymcb Says:

I'm losing interest saban, so far the only confirmed is jayden from samurai and casey from if

  14. Anonymous Says:

I sensed disappointments from the start.....

worse series ever for Power Rangers?

  15. Anonymous Says:

Jason David Frank afawk has not been asked, also Saban has always tried to get around paying anyone an actual paycheck and try to pay them the least bit possible. It's strange how they wanted Steve, but he denied so they asked Rhett but denied him instead over "budget" issues which they didn't have a problem with prior.

  16. marty Says:

face it guys after super megaforce it show will be canceled for real .

  17. Anonymous Says:

I never kept much with the behind-the-scenes stuff with Toei, and I know they had a lot of trouble getting someone from Zyuranger (hence the last minute addition at the end), but did they ever have this much drama when negotiating with their legends?

  18. Anonymous Says:

    oh god
maybe trio spirit ranger from jungle fury also added

  19. Anonymous Says:

You guys do know that there are legal issues with paying someone $1 or having them act for free, right? They'd have to pay them a minimum amount and it could be too much for them.

  20. Anonymous Says:

Yeah.. this is the worst anniversary season I've seen from any show. Saban production crew can't do anything right. Complete nonsense.

  21. Jorge O. Says:

it seems he wont appear because of the budget according with this image :(

  22. Anonymous Says:

It might be a ploy, where actors might have been contracted not to tell anyone about being in super megaforce to surprise fans when the show is on.

If not Super Megaforce is gonna super mega suck so hard that there would be no need for saban to adapt sentai anymore. dissapointing

  23. Anonymous Says:

Get your head together Saban or don't do the series at all!

  24. Anonymous Says:

Yes but the person is implying that he would request a lot of money from them. He isn't.

  25. marty Says:

I say it before and i'll say it again there is only one thing to do ask saban and maybe nickelodeon to cancel the show it is for the best since we forgot about we rather watch it in its prime.

  26. Anonymous Says:

well that sucks he wasnt able to return if it really was for budget reasons. Which i can understand. They probably tight on budget and any returning rangers have to be selected carefully. But i do hope we get to hear what his character been up to over the years and hopefully his suit/other pr original suits make it into any super megaforce episodes.

  27. Anonymous Says:

Doctor Who's 50th is already shaping up to be dissapointing (Tennant just can't be the only returning Doctor on-screen), I don't need Super Megaforce to dissapoint me too. Its ironic because Gokaiger was very good when it came to bringing actors back.

  28. Anonymous Says:

Sentai is in japan so of course it's easier

Power rangers on the other hand is now in new zealand
    (ninja storm- super megaforce)

    and started in the states
    (mighty morphin-wild force)

meaning it would be a lot harder to pay for the returning casts expenses and since power rangers was non union there might be a lot of mighty morphin to wild force cast that have their doubts about returning

  29. Anonymous Says:

Just return the Power Rangers franchise to Ranger Productions, Saban's just screwing everything up again after he bought it back. The fans are not stupid to know this.

  30. Anonymous Says:

It was better in the hand of disney. SPD was made famous in Japan.

  31. Anonymous Says:

I just wanna point out that the season after Gokaiger really wasn't that well received, it had the lowest ratings in Super Sentai history. I think it's because after Gokaiger, there really wasn't anywhere for it to go. While I suspect that the same will be true for the post-Super Megaforce era, I think we're wearing down the potential of Super Megaforce by shooting it down at every possible step before knowing much about it. Who cares about the future of Power Rangers? All that matters right now is Megaforce, which is the current season.

Also, I think that Steve Cardenas probably turned Saban down because he would have to play Zeo Ranger III and not Mighty Morphin Red, as he was the only one who held that title. Hence, background role.

  32. Anonymous Says:

Tight on budget my back end, Saban didn't want to spend even in recreating the Titanium suit. There was budget for stupid Mega Mode garbage but not for a flight ticket and 5 nights at a 3 star hotel?

  33. Anonymous Says:

Power Rangers as a franchise is dead. Everything that they have done since samurai up until now is based on trying to recreate the first series. There's no way you can redo what's already been done AND make it better than it already was with entirely new and different actors who from my assessment SUCK! Anyone who watches today's series can clearly see that from the cast to the morphing sequence as well as the theme song that Haim Saban is trying to recreate history. In closing it was a WONDERFUL show back in the day, but there comes a time to let go and that time has came and went long time ago. Only Saban doesn't realize it.

  34. Anonymous Says:

This show needs a rest FOR REAL. The franchise is way pass its prime and it is totally humiliating to see the drastic downfall it is taking because its main man doesn't know when to throw in the towel. I grew up on the show and like JDF, I keep a close eye on the series and to see its demise is troubling. A successful recipe isn't being CHEAP! Please for the love of all PR fans worldwide, let the franchise rest and retire it FOR GOOD!

  35. VictoryLeo Says:

Ok, so far JDF and Rick Medina are the only ones I have read to be confirmed going to show. Please tell me who are the others?

Seriously Saban, tight budget for an anniversary series? I guess with all the costumes and props invested, its understandable.

  36. Anonymous Says:

Well guys you also have to remember its not like we will see every ranger return or need to have to have every one return. Like gokaiger you only need 1-3 members to show up. And I said it myself we really just need to have one person per season to return for episodes. And that is probably going to be the case besides samurai rangers. And then also we know there is actors who won't return and others who will/want to. So really only need one ranger per season. So that is probably how it will turn out. Now sure would be great to see rocky or titantium ranger back. But just cause they won't doesn't mean we couldn't see some good returns.

  37. danny lucas Says:

The only thing that Saban can do is STOP PAYING TO HIS POLITICAL FRIENDS, AND PAYING HIS CASTS AND STAFFS. In my opinion.

  38. Anonymous Says:

Hey assholes, saban's not being cheap, he's just spending way more money than the budget allows.
As you can all tell from the pictures, it seems that they're trying really hard to use villains for scenes that'll be original for super megaforce(Crum-mummy and finster are in the photos.) Know why? Because fuck the gokaiger footage, it's all a tribute to super sentai and it has it's differences from it, so they have to "adapt" it.
If you're still butthurt, well too bad. Go watch gokaiger, this post here is for power rangers fans anticipating the 20th anniversary season(s).
Anyway, it sucks they can't afford to bring multiple legends.
Maybe the anon above is right. Maybe they should just film in canada. It'll be easier for actors of new zealand and the u.s. to come for acting purposes.

  39. Xenotome Says:

Saban's money is entirely separate from that of Saban Brands. Saban Brands has $500M a year to do everything they need to do. It may seem like a lot, but I assure you that it is not.

  40. Luis Rios Says:

What A Shame.... Come On Saban! why Turn down The Only Power Rangers exclusive ranger. :( And i'm still Wondering How that Dairanger Footage Will Be Explained Does Anyone Know anything About that? Knowing Saban They'll Probably Just Ignore it.

  41. Anonymous Says:

Nice. The neck beards are now full blown apologist for Saban Brands now. Look man. Saban is cheap. Always have and always will. So far, only B string cast members have been ask to come back. Absolutely no one of note save for Wes from Time Force. You would think they would make an acception for the first and only American made ranger to make a cameo. This is supposed to be a nod to all the fans that stuck by for the last 20 years. At least Toei knows how to pull off an anniversary Season. Can't say the same for Saban.

  42. lucas Says:

Too bad. Titanium is one of the best Rangers ever. He is my favourite of all series. I would like so much if he returned :(

    Who knows. Let's have hope.

  43. Anonymous Says:

we have to remember he's 68, he's close to his own death as it is. if he's trying to recreate history as it is which he is, its not working and i know it. Toei knows what its doing when pulling an anniversary off and i have watched gokaiger as living proof of that.

it's way past its prime as it is, its time to rest. the old man doesn't know what he's doing anymore and has probably outsourced to much of his political buddies which is why he's running a tight budget ship and its doing that badly.

Haim Saban i grew up with your show, you now do not know basic marketing 101 as evidenced by zord builder a system that is really stupid.

i would suggest to save yourselves, move to CANADA where you get increased production credit like with life with derek a series that aired years ago on the disney channel. if you move to canada you can pull more off.

the company has $500M a year for filming, its a lot of money not a tight ship. unless he is talking of his personal money.......

i agree with the first guy way above me, move to canada where you get increased production credit which can increase the companies budget of $500M a season to record levels for saban brands.

I know how to write good stories as this franchise is evidently dead, I have a friend as well who's smart with story writing. my friend and i have watched the thing since august 28th 1993.

JDF should come back, so only B strings will be returning for this half. hopefully JDF gets his own ranger key/keys since he's had 5 different suits.

so this means no rhett fisher/titanium ranger/brian mitchell ranger key? i assume if a PRLR key set is done his will be included to avoid angry fans.

a great move would be put the 68 year old geezer in a power ranger suit. put him in the beet j stag suit/stag buster suit because he's idiot enough to fit it.

so far only jayden and casey, no kevin was confirmed along with the rest and he was confirmed shortly afterwords. steven skyler is yet to be confirmed. blake foster was confirmed for turbo. we just need the other seasons and we're good.

wes from time force will appear, other than that JDF (the poster child) and probably others not much else. rick medina as well will appear.

i am a fan, im just very angry at what has been done.

  44. Aaron Mays Says:

Ugh, this is awful. The Titanium Ranger is the only American made ranger. If ANYONE should get a cameo or a shout out in Super Megaforce, it's Ryan Mitchell and the Titanium Ranger. I don't know what Saban's doing or thinking, but if they don't get some more talent in this season, I'm going to be awfully disappointed, no lie. I think JDF's a lock regardless just because it's Tommy, but we need some more of the old rangers showing up besides Wes and Jayden.

  45. Xenotome Says:

No, Saban Brands has $500M, Power Rangers filming does not. That 500 goes to paying all staff, all marketing, licensing, filming, for ALL of their shows as well as their corporate staff, the travel expenses, etc.

You mention Haim specifically, but he is NOT calling the shots with the show anymore. He hasn't since about 1995. He's got more work to do than oversee the production of Power Rangers. That's why Elie Dekel is president of Saban Brands, not Haim.

Zord Builder is not up to Saban, all toy decisions (and some naming) belongs to that of Bandai.

People take Rhett not appearing at face value and assume it means no Titanium at all and we have no idea if it's being used.

For all the people harping on his political contributions he's donated $1.5M to politics. That is chump change.

People should really not blabber on about things they are completely misinformed about.

  46. Anonymous Says:

Saban has nothing to do with the Zord Builder system that's BOA.... And it's Ryan not Brian. IF you're going to have a hissy fit make sure you study what you're going to fuss about.

  47. Anonymous Says:

It sad how this happened but i predicted it from the start getting the original rangers back is going to take a lot of money and i knew there would be no way Sanban can pull it off i suggest that instead of getting the actors just get the costumes and have the rangers say nothing...it may be a stupid solution but as i see it, it's the only way Sanban save money, get through this, and prevent fans like us from reading sad news like this

  48. Anonymous Says:

yes xenotome, i know of your points. it needs to do a lot to save itself. all fan takeover requests are to go through elie dekel the president of saban brands and are not to be redirected to haim.

im sorry sir for getting mad at things im misinformed about, im just really really angry with the way things have gone.

what type of budget is filming operating on typically? since that $500m a year goes to its production staff members and its cast and crew.

zord builder is bandai's idea not saban's idea, i get it. i see the system as a nightmare that doesn't go away, but its a good idea for children who don't want complex megazords. i grew up on complex megazords, but simple is good i see where bandai is coming from there.

thanks for telling me where the $500m a year goes xenotome.

what has he done (haim) since 1995 where he was last involved with PR?

again i apologize, im just not very pleased with PR in general and i know i don't say how i feel in a manner thats open for discussion.

  49. Anonymous Says:

Why not have the rangers lose their mega force powers then do a zeo type thing to get the gokai suits idk just pisses me of that they wanna make gokai a power up

  50. Anonymous Says:

I think I could actually forgive america for destroying gokaiger if they made a titanium ranger key, the catch is it HAS TO, HAS TO, HAS TO say GoGoV if I use it with my mobirates, no ifs ands or buts about it
