Jessica Rey, More Won't Be Returning in Power Rangers Super Megaforce

Jessica Rey, known for her role as Alyssa/White Wild Force Ranger in Power Rangers Wild Force, stated in a Facebook post that she won't be making appearance in the future episodes of Power Rangers Super Megaforce. Here's what she said:

Additionally, Najee De-Tiege, known as Kevin/Blue Samurai Ranger in Power Rangers Samurai, and Samuel Benta, Will/Black Operation Overdrive Ranger in Power Rangers Operation Overdrive, won't be making any appearances in Super Megaforce. Reasons are undisclosed.

Since we're on the topic, a lot of past Power Rangers cast members had received an invitation email, but later received an uninvited mail, due to budget constraints, which made most of them disappointed. Here's a little excerpt from the mail:
Therefore it is with tremendous heartbreak that we have to tell you that due to the immense number of positive response to our inquiry to you all, we are not able to bring all of you to New Zealand to join us for the anniversary. Please understand that this is strictly a budgetary restraint, as we truly wish we were able to accommodate all of you in this celebration.

There were so many of you who said yes, honestly there were many more than we ever anticipated. It is a hard decision and disappointing for us all. There were so many more candidates than we were prepared for.
Nine past cast members are said to have been confirmed to appear. Filming for the said episodes will be on May 25th and 26th.

Power Rangers Super Megaforce is the 21st season of Power Rangers continuing the celebration of the series 20th anniversary. The Megaforce rangers, will acquire a new "power up" in Super Megaforce and must be in this "new power-up" (Gokaiger suit) to transform into past rangers... This will also feature the appearance of the "historical rangers".

Also, If I remember correctly Black OO Ranger was said will be appear, right? Hm... Saban is playing dirty games...

  3. "There were so many people interested we had to turn some of them away!"

...Yeah, who's buying that excuse at this point?

What bugs me is that during Jason David Frank's panel in Dallas he stated that Saban were only picking out 10 rangers to cover 20 season.

Even more annoying is that out of those choices, 3 of those 10 were actors from Lost Galaxy, only 1 from the entire Disney Era (Jason Smith), 2 from Samurai when that one should have had been reserved for a teamup with Megaforce. Furthermore majority of the Disney cast didn't even get an invite to begin with

    U serious Saban?

My friends, it is time for us to band together and kill Haim Saban for doing a piss poor job to our beloved childhood memories that's worth 20 years.

And I honestly prayed that a millionaire was generous enough to donate some budget to the bankrupted Saban.

I know he's effing rich, and one of the richest people in the world, well kinda top 50 like that but why can't he invested a bit?

At this rate I think the idea of Power Rangers Animated back then would be even better than Super Megaforce.

    Megaforce= Dead On Arrival

hmm still wonder all of this trying hid/troll us to big reveal?

Did you read the damn article?

believe me people this is just another of sabans tricks THIS IS JUST PUBLICITY!!! a well done kinda april fool's day that everybody is messing with there sleep, if there are only calling 10 past rangers
1- in the 10 you are counting there is no Alex Hartman or Jason Smith.
2- JDF last year told that "skull" was going to film "some few episodes" on PRSS where we can see that he only appear at the last one, he also said there was going to be a team-up episode and PUFF we got clash of the red rangers
3- belive me that Saban uses JDF to calm on people but....
4- Saban will never care making the 20 anniversary with just 10 people

So... he is just fooling all us all for then shut us with a massive cool season.
Just listen what megaforce has been telling us "NEVER SURRENDER" so lots of hope for season 21 and its also foolish to think that we where going to get every ranger from every season even for toei on japan was really hard to make at list one or 2 per season on SS.

he is just fooling you all he never spolils what is everything coming to the new season if just told us all when you see the final product you all will be like "we already know" it's a freakin marketing strategy!!!!

Let me start by saying I am not a fan of this man, nor do I have some unnecessary hatred for him, because honestly, I'm not as... "invested" as some of you. I watch the shows, and leave it at that. I don't really care about what happens behind the curtain. I'm much more a fan of Sentai at this point than Power Rangers. Having not watched the two new Power Ranger series (Samurai & MegaForce). But, if not for Power Rangers, I would never have found Sentai. With that said...

I still don't understand why people get so upset that he couldn't bring in everybody. It's like you guys cannot grasp what a budget is! No, instead it's "I WANT this!" "Saban shits money so he should DO this!" This is NOT how the REAL world works. If Nickelodeon gave Saban 50k (example) to do Super MegaForce, do you idiots really think it possible to bring in EVERYBODY? These people aren't going to be paid $2 to work. Are you insane? Actors aren't the only ones that need to be paid too, you know? You do know that right? Licensing rights, travel, location, advertising, crew all need to get their cut. You think if the money was there Saban wouldn't bring in as many past rangers as he could? Maybe. I don't know the guy well enough, nor will I pretend to, nor have I had a glance at the books to know the financial situation.

Trust me, I'm disappointed some of these guys aren't coming. I understand that. I think it's absolutely foolish not to add the Titanium Ranger, a PR creation! I feel besides JDF, that should of also been a priority. But perhaps the thought process behind his exclusion was re-filming might have been required, and obviously expensive. Who knows, right? I'll save all my "angst" for when the final list of who and who isn't in is released.

I wonder how many of you have ever been in charge of organizing anything that requires budget control. Anybody?

I don't mean to come off like I'm talking down to people, but you guys seem to just get so upset, that you lose sense of reasion. Personally, I feel, and I hope, I really do, that this is a set up for a huge surprise. I don't keep count, but how many people HAVEN'T come out to say they aren't returning? And who are they? That is what's important. Instead of worrying about who says they aren't going, let's look at who hasn't said anything yet.

@Sengalboy Nah, I'm good. Kill a man for... for what? Because he didn't make you happy? You're on your own buddy. He's an old man, time will do it's job soon enough, as grim as that may sound. My childhood memories are preserved on VHS & DVD. And you also prove a point. Thinking that Saban is one of the richest people in the world? HAHAHA! Are you mad? Saban? Top 50? This is why I make the point that when it comes to money, you guys have no idea what you're talking about.

Here you go, from a simple Forbes search: http://www.forbes.com/profile/haim-saban/

Just so you know, that net worth is NOT what he has to throw around. Before you jump off the handle saying he could put that into the production of the show.

    "Come at me, bro"

How many Zord rangers will appear in this series is all I want to know, because there's a few major power ups to the Pirate Megazord that in the stock footage are used a lot.

So if they are only doing 10 tribute episodes then what kind of anniversary show this is?

  14. Scott Says:

    @Reader

I understand that budget can and is an issue for such a project, so I totally agree with where you are coming from. It's just unreasonable to think that Saban would be able to get so many past cast members to be in the show. However I think most of us just don't understand and agree with how they approached the matter of getting past Rangers.

Now that we have the "inside scoop" that they were only planning on hiring 10, why on earth would you do a mass email? Perhaps the email mentioned that the first 10 that confirmed would get in?

Some things they really should've done:

    Plan ahead
I'm not saying they should have an entire storyline and script ready before hand, but they should have at least had a general idea or goal in mind before proceeding. And you know what, maybe they have. But doing a mass email sure doesn't give off that image.

    Contact Individuals Personally
After the planning stages, they should also have a list of people you would want in the show (i.e. a Red Ranger from each series). If and when you have some declines, go to your second choices and so on. Would've also helped if they were contacted earlier to avoid scheduling issues.

    Get a bigger budget
I know I know, I said I understood that they can't just throw money around. But seriously, as an anniversary series and seeing the drama behind the scenes, I would not be surprised that they were being a little tight with their money. But they should know that you can't make money without spending some of it, and I think they are losing out quite a bit if they can't get the right cast members.

Anyway in all honesty, I would also not be surprised if this was some big trolling and this all just a big lie and they did in fact get a boat load of cast members to cameo. Here's hoping!

I'm starting to believe what JDF said before. It's safe to say NOBODY wanted "Najee De-Tiege" to come back, lol.
