Red Wind Ranger Not Invited in Power Rangers Super Megaforce?

Probably one of my favorite Power Ranger, Pua Magasiva, better known as Shane Clarke/Red Wind Ranger of Power Rangers Ninja Storm, stated in a Twitter response that he didn't got any invitation e-mails from Saban for an appearance in the future episodes of Power Rangers Super Megaforce. Here's what he said:

Earlier today, RangerCrew had revealed the contents of the generic e-mail that was sent to previous Power Rangers actors, inviting them to take part in Super Megaforce. Similar to Magasiva, Matt Austin didn't received any e-mail. Steve Cardenas, Rhett Fisher and Karan Ashley revealed to have received an invitation but turned them down due to the low pay and Saban's budget restrictions.

Filming for the said episodes will be on May 25th and 26th.

Power Rangers Super Megaforce is the 21st season of Power Rangers continuing the celebration of the series 20th anniversary. Based on the previous information, everything related to Goseiger will be spread into 20 episode first season. The Megaforce rangers, will acquire a new "power up" in Super Megaforce and must be in this "new power-up" (Gokaiger suit) to transform into past rangers... This will also feature the appearance of the "historical rangers".

Disappointing. That means either they won't be using the cool shinkenger-gokaiger fight scene or they'll use a voice actor to replace shane like they did in the samurai-rpm episode.

Im so sick of this shit. I swear, every time I fucking hear something about this god awful anniversary season. I'm sorry I even saw Gokaiger at this point. I was expecting that same level of awesomeness for haha Super Mega Force. What the hell was I thinking. And before the fanboys make a comment about just wait and see. Listen guys, You saw Samurai, You saw Mega Force. Is their any reason to stand that Super Mega Force would be even better? The same freaking writers I mean come on. Good luck with terrible season guys. I'm done

I'm loving the fact that some of the greatest rangers throughout the history of 20 years are either turning down the invitations or not even being invited let alone. It seems that Saban getting back Power rangers was by far the biggest setback in the franchise history because at this point, neither the fans or the Actors that we grew up with are getting what we want. Saban better wake up before he kills the very franchise that he started here in america, if he hasn't already

AND WE SERIOUSLY MEAN IT CANCEL THE SHOW SABAN OR REWRITE THE FINAL SEASON!

This is just terrible. Can anything go right for that season? Just once? Saban Brands had years to get there affairs in order for this huge blowout season and they botched it. The veterans that were asked to come back said "Screw You". Then there are the ones that didn't even get an invite at all. Only second string rangers that made little to no contribution at all. J. Faunt and JDF get passes for obvious reason. They're memorable rangers. I can't say the say for the other confirmations. My kids don't even care about Mega Force let alone Super Mega Force. Thy're to wrapped up in Kyoryuger to even want to be bothered by it. I must've spent hundreds already on the merchandise. Well worth it. The same goes for the Gokaiger Merchandise. I loved Power Rangers. I just can't stand what is being done here. Disney had it faults but at least they treated the story telling, characters and fans better than this. Forever Red had it's flaws but we still got one hell of a team up. Can't say the same for this season because oh yeah hardly anyone is coming back.

Re writing the season would require talent and effort. That's too much to ask of that lame ass production crew. Is anyone coming back that we actually care about ?

  7. Anonymous Says:

Marty, why should they cancel the show? It's doing great for it's target demographic. Time to move on I think.

just read that Erin Cahill is not doing it either. She would do it. but she was only gonna get to do "one scene" and it's non union. She doesn't want to risk her membership. I love Erin. I hate this season of Power Rangers

And your one of the reasons why the bar is set so low dude. Doing great how? It's no where near the zenith it once was. It's barely selling anything and the budget is shit. what are you talking about?

Besides, Nick doesn't want to air Power Rangers anymore, and it ain't coming back to The CW anytime soon; same went with Disney in the late 2000's. Nick has recently put it on at 1pm (which according to BurgundyRanger is kids' TV exile) so it can be pre-empted from time to time; that also happened to RPM on some Saturdays from July 18-Dec. 5, 2009 (where I live, anyway); since Disney XD took over from Toon Disney/Jetix, ABC Kids was the only network in the US to air the show. ABC affiliates in most other states since 2006 didn't want the show anywhere near them because it lacked e/i content. Nicktoons hasn't cared much for the show either except for/since the Morphenomenon events. Still, it's too early in this season, and if Super Megaforce rolls around, we'll see how all of this plays out. However, with none of the aforementioned networks wanting anything to do with this show anymore (though Lost Galaxy is coming to Kabillion next month), there's NO good home for it anywhere on TV anymore.

I'm the reason? How so. Also, not sure if you've actually read any financial reports, but Samurai and Super Samurai both did finanically better than any show under Disney.

So what are you talking about?

Again, time to move on I think. Perhaps you've just outgrown Power Rangers. It happens.

part of me is wishing they all said yes and they all signed NDAs stating that weren't in the season, but Saban reputation says that ain't going to happen....

  18. Unknown Says:

About that "not doing great" part-- it's obvious Nick doesn't want Power Rangers anymore (if you're on Nickelodeon and your name isn't SpongeBob, OddParents, Ninja Turtles, Monsters vs. Aliens, Big Time Rush, Wendell & Vinnie or Marvin Marvin, you're already dead), and Power Rangers ain't coming back to The CW, so let's forget about THAT; but Lost Galaxy is coming to Kabillion next month; which I don't have. Also, remember when Disney XD took the place of both Toon Disney and Jetix, and didn't want Power Rangers, so it only aired on ABC Kids, where it could get pre-empted on some Saturdays; same has went for Nick, either due to "bad ratings" or KCA events. Nicktoons hasn't cared much for the show outside of the "Morphenomenons", and, as Burgundy Ranger described; "1pm is kids' TV exile," and "There seems to be no good home for Power Rangers anymore. Its halcyon days have long since passed." Though it's still early in this season, and I've stuck with the show forever, but if Super Megaforce DOES fail... I hope it doesn't.

About that whole where would we air it after nick thing, um maybe just put it on cartoon network at like noon( eastern standard time) and the japan shows with english subs on toonami alongside a rider show like ooo's?

  20. Unknown Says:

Yeah, people don't like that CN has been airing live-action shows, especially since Stuart Snyder became CEO of CN as of 2007. Sure Power Rangers and The Troop are airing on Nicktoons, but let's face it, where else would Saban put it? And PR also aired on the former Toon Disney as well. And Kamen Rider was never really popular here in the US, but with the whole Power Rider thing... we don't even know WHICH Rider series will be adapted this time.
